I was sent by mail a voucher for free airline tickets but first they ask me to call the same number as the other people posted.1-866-754-0857. I didn't call of course but I was curious about to find out online writing the number and this page showed up.
I smelled scam right away.

I verified with BofA this morning. They do not call customers, period. They only contact customers by mail.

This is a scam. Do not return the call. You may be redirected to an overseas # and billed at long distance charges per minute, or personal information will be collected!

Most definitely a scam; I do not have a Bank of America account and have never had one. I will not be returning the call.

I wish I scene this before hand. I paid $469.76 assuming they are legit since I was backdrafted to about $637. I do owe BofA however when I walked into BofA on Berreyessa in San Jose right by Capitol "Suzie Chen" Some old lady was arguing with me that they have not received it. So despite the rude customer service in Berreyessa I have visited a more organized branch in San Jose Downtown and found that the $469.76 was not collected and I still owed. They stated they would never accept a payment over the phone. When I came home and logged into my Wells Fargo account I found it was pulled from BofA as shown on the statements with the same 800 number which is strange. I have to file a complaint somewhere, luckily Wells Fargo helped me with a reversal. If BofA is this bad: Rude and Bad customer service (Berreyessa BofA) and leaked customer information, I would believe they have some Priority One issues they need to take care of. I didn't notice this much bad activity until I opened up the bank account in berreyessa bank of america.

I called B.O.A. on 2-2-10, they have had numerous reports
of this activity and are working on the problem.it's fraud!
b.o.a says it's fraud and not to give out your account numbers or any other sensitive or personal information. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM! AND PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS!

It is the collections department at the Bank of America calling because they think you owe them money.

They called me twice with the same "we have an offer for you please call us at 1-866-754-1587" recording and after the second call I called them back to let them know I don't have an account with them, hopefully they won't call again.

I got a phone # from Vonage in June. Apparently the last person to use this number was a BofA customer.  Despite repeatedly telling Bank of America that I am not the person who had the number previously, and despite the fact that I have on at least six occasions asked to be placed on their DO NOT CALL list, they persist in calling me. I'm sorry the taxpayers of the USA bailed BofA out!

I usually don't answer calls on my cell if I don't know the # on caller I'd. I've had many voicemails that were cut off because caller is a recording that starts as soon as the voicemail answers.  All I could hear were the last 4 #'s they wanted me to call and then something about B of A, this is not a sales call.  I just answered a call from the unknown # and listened to the message. I decided to call back from my fax line. A recording answered with, "thank you for calling B of A, please hold and your call will be answered shortly. I DO NOT AND NEVER HAVE HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH B OF A. Someone finally answered asked how they could help me. I said you tell me I'm returning your call. The guy asked me what # I got the message at so I told him 212-555-1212. He then asked for my name to verify the info on his screen. Considering I just gave him the phone # for information in the 212 area code I knew this was a fishing scam so I told him I wasn't going to give him any info because I didn't know who I was talking with. He responded with I understand, are you (my company name) which he obviously got off caller Id and not from the # I gave him so I said no and then he hung up. THIS IS NOT A REAL CALL FROM B OF A.

I also get messages on my machine from B of A to return the call about an exciting opportunity for their customers and that it is not a marketing call. When I called they had me on hold for a while and then asked me for the phone number that was called. They looked up the # and gave me the person who they were trying to contact...not me. Just not sure if this may be a phone scam where you get charged huge international charges while they have you on hold.

This appears to be BofA calling on overdrafted accounts.

It's definitely Bank of America, and for the record B of A DOES contact customers by phone. I've received calls from them before, and I always hang up and call back. This time I hung up and called back, and found out that an expense account that I hadn't been using was overdrawn due to the monthly maintenance fees being deducted. This is not a scam, it's definitely Bank of America.

It was a machine generated call purportedly from bank of america asking me to call back about and overdraft problem.   When I called back I was asked for my account number (once again by a recording).   I believe it was genuine but there's no way I'm going to give my bank account number to an unidentified recording.  I called my B of A banker and she said she'ld check but never got back.

Continual calls at all hours looking for someone who does not live here. Debt collectors no doubt.  they have promised to remove me from their list for the past 5 weeks. I need this to stop.

its totally a phishing company.. not b of a. i had the same issue. i callled b of A, they had no record of calling me, or any need to.... bottom line. dont confirm your information- not even your name unless you are 100% certain that the caller is legit.

866 numbers are scammer numbers. they are virtually untraceable.

Got the same call telling me it was not a telemarketing call it said the business hours were from 8am to 12 midnight, i called just to find out who they were iand they were closed.
I called B of A spoke to a fraud analyst she checked my account and there was no wrong activity nor a msg in the system for me to call them.
This is defenitly a new way of phising customers

Got the same msg as above, called the # and the recording before the agent tells you its BOA Overdraft protection dept. They make outbound calls to people overdrawn on their accounts; told the agent they had the wrong number, she "said" she would remove the number from their list.

I'm getting these every few days now.  I'm not now, nor have I ever been, a BofA customer!  I've spoken to BofA and they said they would stop calling the number...nope, still calling.

I got the same message - we do have an account  but I'm not late with any payments - so I don't know what great offer they are offering up...
It comes across as "UNKNOW CALLER".  I don't answer any of those calls.
Half the time they are doing a survey and I get caught on the phone doing them....

Just called me with a time sensitive matter "recording".  Stating it was not a sales call, but that they appreciated my business and wanted to extend an offer to me.

We do no business with them.  I will not return the call.

They just called me also.  I don't even have a B of A account.  Chalk it up to phone phishing.
