They are scams I called citi bank to confirm and they told me that this number is nowhere in their directories!!!!! Do not give out info I repeat do not and they don't even leave voicemails or s*** like that okay isn't that a little odd come on ppl they are scammers with nothing better to do than f*** ppl over!!!!!

It does not promote confidence in Citi when a reply from the firm is so challenged by spelling and common rhetorical usage. This assumes you are indeed responding for Citi.

Then you answer and say you've got the wrong number and they will remove it. Simple as that. How are they supposed to know they have the wrong person if you don't tell them.

If you don't have an account with us period then your number could have been used by someone who does at a certain point in time. I find it absolutely hilarious when people I call say that we are scamming them, because they must believe EVERYTHING they read on the internet. We get you acct number or social to pull up your acct and verify the address and DOB for security purposes on the acct holders part. If we keep calling you and you don't have a citi acct, it's probably in your best interest to answer and let us know you don't have an acct so we can take your number off the dialer. Ignorance at its finest. Why don't you call the number and asked to be transferred to fraud, mortgage, customer service, a manager etc. were all located in the same building.

I work for Citibank. It's not a scam. You're all dumb. We work in a calling center, not the branch. That's why they aren't branch hours. If were calling you, you overdrafted your account, you're late on your installment loans, etc. stupid people. If you handled your money better, we wouldn't be calling you.

I don't have, and have never had, a citibank account of any kind, so I really REALLY doubt this is any kind of service call from them to me.

This is a Total scam.  When they called for the 15th time I answered and gave them all the wrong information.  they did not notice at all.  They even went so far as to say thank you mr jackson (not my name) all that information is correct.  Don't give anyone calling you any info. Always call back a bank or whoever if someone calls you.

I got message from them, but I was concerned and called directly to City, to my personal banker. I used to have City account and it turned out that I really owe bank 70$ - i had overdraft and no clue how I got into - I always had enough funds in the account, and this overdreaft never show up either in my online banking nor bills or whatever to pay. So now to protect my credit report I have to fight with the bank..

So if you get a call you probably get a little consious about it and contact the bank directly.

But despite - City is a huge scammer itself. It's not the first time when I face the situation with them - I close the account and than in some time I have something I had to pay...

Constanly calling my number for someone else.

These people are calling my 15 year old's cell phone.
His number is already on the DO NOT CALL LIST !

Obvious spam because I don't have any citibank accounts... Never have... They call about 2 or 3 times a day... Same message

Its a scam, I just got a message.  The message said I could even call back on Saturday and Sunday.   Not banking hours

I always get a call from this number all day. They call asking for someone I dont even know. I tell them they have the wrong number and they say ok, but they still call

the guy who left the previous message works for them..dont listen...its a scam@!!!!

I hope it makes people feel better to know that this is a service that citi provides when you are late on paying your bill.  I've been receiving these auto-generated calls every time I'm late and when you wait on the line long enough a live person picks up and confirms pieces of your information to make sure they have the right person. And then you can pay your bill right over the phone and avoid any fees or late charges.   I do remember the first time I got this call and I was suspicious too so I asked them a couple of questions to make sure they were legit.  I asked them what account number they show and I asked them how much I paid last time, stuff like that.  Anywho, that's the scoop folks.

call pretending to be Citibank, phishing for credit card info

i received today the same type of call in the caribbean, from paula . She said was calling from alburquerque , citibank office. thanks for posting, i was ready to claim the bank. the number is from MD.

This is a scam, dont answer.....

I keep getting calls from a "Paula" who lies and says that she missed our X:XX a.m./p.m. call that I had scheduled. She keeps calling despite me never calling her back. I never had "Citi Private Banking" so it's not a collection call, etc. She also says on my business line that she will try me at my residential line but then never calls my residence telephone number.

SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. It's called social engineering or phishing. She wants me to give out my SSN so that credit can be gotten in my name. She already has my phone number and name. Easy to get my address. Just needs my SSN or DOB to make the identifiers connect and get credit.

Paula is trying to scam you!

Left message on my cell phone number saying "Please call Citibank at 866-757-2686."  I was suspicious because the caller sounded unprofessional and Citibank does not have my cell phone number on record.  I did not call back.
