they dont  sell anything they are only doing surveys, asking for general information. id say suck it up and just do the survey its really hard for them to get surveys.

If you are on the "Do Not Call List" it does NOT apply to Market Research as the government recognizes people's opinions and also market research helps the economy by improving products and services.

This company works off of a dialer system.  The dialer makes calls from the computer while the agent waits for a beep to indicated that someone is on the line.  The dialer has been known to have people waiting on the line for the agent to get to them.  Sometimes we've heard them tell us they've said hello three or four times.  Of course the agent is at fault and we're the ones who are "hanging up" when ACTUALLY we're not even on the line YET.

Our unemployment rate in our city is VERY high.  This attracts the prospects to create call centers in our community to drop the unemployment rate.  Now...  I can't speak for everyone but I'm pretty sure we would all love to have other options for employment.

The surveys ARE legitimate.  Obviously someone hired our company to do these surveys.  Now, if we actually revealed WHO hired the company, then there would be no point in doing the surveys.. the answers would be biased.  Example: someone hates "Toyota" and the survey is revealed that Toyota is sponsoring the survey - they would likely rate Toyota much much lower than what they would have not knowing the sponsor.

Anyways, bottom line, please keep in mind that we are doing our jobs trying to support our families.  If you're not interested, please just say so and also refuse for your household if that's the case.

The company is Acrobat Research. Their contact info is as follows... (and I might suggest eager beavers go to the steps of finding the home phone numbers of the executive (listed below) and soliciting them as much as they find it necessary for their company to solicit us.)

Hey, ask them every question in the world about why they feel it is okay to solicit us without our approval.
- especially at dinner time as they find it appropriate to solicit us.

Also, the questions they ask are inappropriate - don't hesitate to let them know. i.e. "Hello, is there a male over the age of 18 in your household?" My mother got this call and she was unable to sleep and ended up also calling me (her son) to come over because she was so scared! For every single mom, woman, individual, & son out there who knows the world can be a bit scary - we really should let these people know this is not acceptable.

They're a call centre service tasked out with doing phone surveys, OBVIOUSLY.  Time for playing detective is over.  Unfortunately it's not illegal (yet) in most places so until then you're hooped.  Half the people are fun to screw around with so have some fun when they call..

They keep calling my cellphone! I never give out my number to anyone other than my friends! I am deaf, so the people who I give out my number knows not to call!! It's irritating how often they call!!

Think it's a call center service used by private research firms. Received a landline call from a woman saying she was with Acrobat Research asking to do a survey on an unidentified topic. *69'd the last call to my landline number and got (866) 794-8255. Acrobat Research website www.acrobatresearch.com indicates it has a privacy policy and collects aggregated data. The 866 number is probably only an outbound (does not receive callbacks) since it is unlikely to connect to the same callcenter agent that called to do the particular survey for the research firm.

I received a call from this # on May 6, 2008.  As usual, it says "NAME UNKNOWN".

I am in Alberta Canada & I am on the Canadian Marketing Association "do not contact" list.

On the 800notes website there is a suggestion that the company is "Merritt Research" http://www.merrittresearch.com but I am doubtful.
