I have received 30 calls from this number and not one voice mail.  The times I answer, no one says anything.  They come as early as 8 am and as late at 9 pm.  This is crazy

I have read on other sites that this is Scholastic Books saying they are collecting a debt.

They keep calling and leave no message! I just saved their number in my phone under "Don't Answer" and set the ringtone for silent so I don't have to hear it ring!!

That wouldn't explain why I am getting phone calls from there...I don't have children and I haven't ordered anything from Scholastic Books for about 8 years or more...hmmm...

Let it go to voice mail....Left no message

This number has called my house several times. When I answer they want to verify my address and phone number. The female on the line REFUSED to tell me why she was calling. She insisted on knowing my address. I hung up.

i just received a call from this number too. i refused to answer since the number wasn't familiar, but when i called the number the recorded message said it was for ECC - a collection agency. odd, since as far as i'm aware i'm not overdue on any bills. i have seen a lot of odd comments about this number on other sites too.

i just got this call fron this number i didnt reconise who it was so i didnt say anything and they didnt either dont know who it is i would like to know.

I have recently been recieving calls from this number as well - 5 in the past week, 2 per day, every other day (5/11, 5/12 and 5/15/2009), between 2 and 8 pm (Utah time), with no consistency on the times.

There is no caller-id info, no one ever responds when I answer (just office background noise), and when I don't answer, they always leave voicemail, but all the voicemail contains is the same generic office background noise.

These are coming to my business cell phone which is registered on the Federal Do Not Contact list, which I give to no one but my associates here at work.

I have not had children in the age group for Scholastic Books for 20 years, so I have no out-standing bills from them.

This number has callen me 5 times a month for the past 2 yrs, I NEVER answer.

They called and asked if it was (First/Last Name) and address.  I said nope as they had both last name and address wrong.  Haven't had the last name they asked for in over 6 years.  I'm guessing they are fishing for address w/names to send information out.

this "unknown name" caller ID keeps calling looking for my grown daughter, they will only say they are from ECC but will not identify what ECC stands for.  They say it's "peronal" and refuse to tell me anything and ask me to have my daughter call, no way will I give them her number or pass on the message to her
I just dialed the number and the recording said Eastern Collection Corporation

This is a collection agency that claims that they are collecting a debt for Scholastic. They further explained that I automaticaly signed up for a book club by ordering out of a scholastic magazine sent home with my daughter. However they refused to document any of their information as to the book, teacher or date. All they said was it was a $5 book that we owe $38 for from 2007. I asked them why they had no information to send me and they said it was because they already sent it "too many times" and couldn't do it again. I did get ahold of some REALLY nice people from Scholastic to verify any debts I might have had and unfortuanly they could only go back one year but this is NOT a collection agency they use. I did show them this website to colaberate my problems with them and they are looking into it.

They did know my name and address just by giving them the phone number they called. But something is REAL fishy about it! I will not be ignoring this at all and hope to stop this company from scaming anyone else again!  Because what collection agency has no information to back their demands up!?!?
