constant harrassing from whoever this is. They got my credit card information off one of my purchases somewhere. They wouldn't tell me though. So I asked to be put on their "do not call list" but that hasn't worked. They still call but when I answer the phone they hang up. I'm getting very frustrated cause I don't know how to stop this annoyance!!

I have been recieving calls from this number for lord knows how long. They just called me and asked to speak with someone whom I did not know. I told them I did not know who they were asking for and told them not to call me again. Then the arrogant a**hole, said "oh my, do we have an attitude", and YES that is when I lost it...I told him that I have an attitude because they have been constantly calling my number for the past two weeks straight at least 5 times a day, and I said you have a nice day A**HOLE...hopefully they will stop calling, BUT i highly doubt that....

I spoke to a rep from this number and actually got a nice tid-bit of info from her. Apparently the people doing the calling are not aware that they are contributing to a scam operation. She said that her parent company was called "emp3 inc." and that their phone number was 305-332-4159 out of Miami fl. This is a cell phone number that has "MP3" recorded as ID on her voice mail box. If you manage to get a live person on the phone when they call, spread the word to them that they are working for crooks, but try to be nice to them about it. you may help get enough info out of them to put the a**holes they work for in jail.

told me I would get 100 dollers form wal-mart and 520 for gap and that all I had to do was look at the package call the company and tell them thanks you for the gift but no thanks got the plans. They told me I would not be charged for anything unless I wanted one of the packages.

I recieved the call and researched it. When someone calls you and has the last 4 digits of your card, its called "fishing". They can easily obtain the last 4 digits from a reciept, statement, online order, etc. and the address, phone and name is public records. Hopefully you aren't stupid enough to verify any more information, or your screwed. They are hard to track down, just dont give them any additional information. These kinds of scams are going to start becoming rampant with the economy the way it is, the best way to see if they are real is to ask for their phone number and call them back if you are really interested in their offer (which should pretty much be never!)

Oh my goodness, where do i start with this number. Theyve been calling me. I picked up once and told me i had recieved rewards blah blah from my credit card company, i said no thanks, the lady tells me to "shut up and listen to her" she even cussed at me! I told her to take me off the list, she said they don't do that, and they'll never stop calling me!

I was stunned, i called the credit card company and they said they have nothing to do with that particular company and theres nothing they can really do, all i could do was report my card stolen and get a new cc number. sooo i did.

They keep calling, i pick up again, the girl is really nice, i tell her about the crazy cussing lady and that my card number is different now, shes really nice and says they won't be calling anymore. But no, they still call and in the last few days they've called like 5 times a day!!!

Get calls on my Blackberry 6-10 times a day.  Many times, there is nobody there.  Other times, someone asks for someone, who is not me.  When I tell them that there is no such person associated with this line, and to stop calling. There is no response, and they just hang up

REMINDER....all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls. YOU WILL BE
CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number from
your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It
will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5)
years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have
blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number... HELP OTHERS BY
PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. It takes about 20 seconds.
Please pass around the information.

I lost my card and had a new one issued- new number.  The first time I used it  was on an Infomercial for some foot inserts.  About 2months later i started getting bombarded with these calls from "Capital Rewards" claiming that since we have been such good customers of card ending in ####, they are going to send me a $100 walmart card and a $50 gas card.   Apparently the infomercial checkout sold my info to a telemarketing company.  Infact, now that I think about it the infomercial checkout itself had alot of 30 day trial attempts.

Just got off the do not call registry.  phone number 888-382-1222.  Call from the phone that you are registering.  It takes 31 days before you can file a harrassment case.

Sprint is working on a method to block particular phone numbers, but they do not have one yet.

hey everyone, same problem here. Judging from what ive read here, i think this is something we need to take up with our credit card companies. from this specific phone number, i just get MULTIPLE calls per day, hanging up the few times i actually answer. but i have recently received calls from "unknown" numbers (i think they called themselves "platinum rewards" when i finally answered) telling me they want to send me all these free gift cards and coupons/discounts etc (they talk very fast), all for keeping my MASTERCARD acct in good standing. my mastercard is through capital one and this company HAD my credit card number bc after i said they could send me the free stuff they began putting tons of random charges on my capital one mastercard acct, and I NEVER EVER gave them the number (or any other personal info). i had to close my acct and open another one but over this i think i will be closing my acct with capital one completely because (though capital one denies this) they obviously sold my information. how else would a company have my credit card number, phone number and home address that I DIDNT GIVE THEM? and after all that im still getting multiple calls a day??

they usually call early in the morning like around 8:00 or 9:00 am, but a lot of times they call in the afternoon around 3:00 or 4:00, never after 5:00 pm though i noticed.  i never answer these calls.  i'm assuming it's a telemarketer or one of those companies that offers to send a "free" service or services in the mail and then automatically charge you a ridiculous amount of money if you do not call them to cancel, in which the number to call almost never works.  i would say to watch out for any random 866 number, as there are many variations of the phone number as well.

I keep getting calls from this number.  They usually hang up when I answer.  Today, they asked for someone who does not live here, which I stated to them, they then got nasty and started screaming to put the f----- person on the phone and then stated "do you know who you are talking to?" This is so frustrating - how can I get these calls to stop???

This number has been calling a large corporate office, but the person requested is not an employee.  Actually, the entertainment of speaking with these ignorant and unresponsive individuals is almost worth the hassle.  I suspect their approach to represent a systemic problem that is growing in our society - lack of responsibility and accountability for their actions.  My personal hope is that whatever they're seeking is worth less then their effort, because it sure seems difficult to track them.  Maybe Homeland Security can help here?  Would be a nice feather in their hat, huh?!

Same as above, they hang up as soon as someone answers.........last night someone did speak and said they were offering rewards for a credit card (Chase) I believe, and I told them I was not interested and to remove me from their calling list as they call my cellphone and are wasting my minutes.  They apologized and have called 4 times already this morning doing the same thing.

I think next time they call, I am going to answer and blow a whistle as loud as I can in their ear!  I am over this.

ya they have been calling me quite a bit here lately also. about a year a go we used my dads credit card on a student loan. and they actually call my cell number in reference to the last 4 digits on my dads credit card. they student loan thing is the only thing that would tie my phone with his credit card.

when they call they say i have one rewards to either a gas station, walmart, or a number of other places. i asked them who they are from and they said they are from visa.

so has anyone made a student loan within the last couple years? cause i usually start getting calls about half way through the semester.

Numerous calls, usually hang-ups, I suspect that they are trying to reach the previous owner of my phone, when I try to call back I get a busy signal.

I did however answer yesterday morning, the call woke me up, and as the number is similar to my mothers, I said "don't worry mom, I'm up for school"

I was half asleep, but they haven't called since :-)

Well, we are all having the same problem, that's apparent.  I am going to try the "national do not call list" and see if that makes any difference.  I will post again if it works.  This is very frustrating, but I'm not telling anyone anything new. =)

They called my law firm today and at first, no one would respond when I said, "hello?" but you could hear two women talking in the background and one of them laughing, completely ignoring the fact that I had answered the phone, just jabbering away.  On my third request for a response, a female asked for one of our attorneys by his first name. When I asked her who was calling, she hung up on me. When I called the number back from my incoming call log, it rang busy.

They call me at LEAST 6 times a day. But, they hang up before I can say anything.
I spoke to them once, and told them that they were calling a cell phone, and as soon as I said "cell" they hung up.
Then they called again 2 times in the next hour.

I have no idea how to stop these calls. Someone help?
