Steller Recovery - bill collector - has wrong number - leaves 866-860-8796 as callback, but it just disconnects when called.  Quite annoying.

At 10:20 a.m. Jan. 19, 2012, a call from 971-220-1050 (Gresham, Ore.), provided no identifying information but left a robodial message. Here's a portion:

"... some information in the mail about your credit card account. This call to follow up on that information to let you know that you can still take advantage of this terrific program, your card companies have authorized us to contact you ..."

At 1:32 p.m., a call from 501-303-4193 (Benton, Ark.), which shows up in a Google cross reference to a collector called Nationwide Credit Inc. (NCI), left no message.

At 1:37 p.m., a call from 402-817-1032 (Lincoln, Neb.), left a robodial message saying that if one continued to listen, he or she acknowledged he or she was the person they were trying to contact, and that there would be a "three-second pause so you could listen in private," followed by:

"This is Stellar Recovery Inc. at 866-860-8796. This communication is from a debt collector. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose."

So, out of the blue, three calls, same day, all seemingly unrelated?  

What a coincidence!

They are a collection agency for comcast

Got a call from 512-366-3585 (I did Yahoo Search on this number, and it came up belonging to a
person by the name of John Peterson from Austin, TX).  The message left on my answering machine said they were Stellar Recovery Inc -a collection agency and to call 866-860-8796.  The call was not for me so have not called it back.  Why would a collection agency be calling from a private number??????  My caller ID had UNAVAILABLE on it

I have been receiving these calls for about three months now on this 1-866-806-8796 about the same thing.  I do not owe anyone anything!  I would like to report this number as well as 281-661-8811 who leaves the same recording with a different number.

received multiple calls from 866-860-8796 asking for Wendy Bailey. I don't know anybody with the first name Wendy or last name Bailey. Now these calls are coming from cel phone 206-518-9509.  the message the calls from the cel phone are to call 866-860-8796, but they no longer give "Wendy's" name, they just say they are a debt collector.  Calls as early as 8:03 am and as late as 9:10 at night.

These mutts keep calling asking for Vanessa Ford.  Who?  "This is an attempt to collect a debt."  I don't owe anyone any money.

Don't know a  Vanessa Ford, never heard of Vanessa Ford.  Stellar Recovery is out of Kalispell, Montana.  Maybe they should look for Vanessa there instead of here.  Idiots.

Stellar's message says they're calling for a person who's never lived at our address.  And we've had our phone number long enough that any bounty hunters or collection agencies should long ago have packed up their tents and gone home.
I agree that collection agencies may just spin the virtual roulette wheel, and pick any name / any number, then start harassing the heck out of that poor person.  
Last time this happened with a different agency, I wormed the name / ID # of the collection agency's stupe, and then told that person that if said agency called again, they'd be turned over to our state's (activist) Attorney General.  That parrticular agency had been in news reports where multiple states attorneys general had sued them for scumbag tactics (harass until an innocent party paid, just to get rid of them), and some AGs had won, so that got the caller's attention.  Their calls ceased.  That was about a year ago.

We received a call yesterday.

I've even waited until I get an actual HUMAN BEING, explain that I am NOT SARA PAGE, have never been Sara Page, don't know Sara Page, am not harboring Sara Page.
They tell me they will take my UNLISTED number off their computer call list.  And then a week goes by, and the calls start again.  
Ugh.... there should be something else we can do.

This number comes up on caller ID.  They are calling for Sara Page !!  I don't know this girl, I have never known this girl, I haven't met this girl, I'm not harboring her.... get what I"m saying??
They don't take that answer !!  They keep telling me they've taken me off the call list, but the calls just keep coming!!!   Any suggestions on what to do?  Tried the "don't answer it" and then it goes to voice mail where their automated msg fills up my entire voice mail !!  OK REALLY???!!!!

This debt collector keeps calling and they ask for someone I have never heard of.  I stayed on the line this time and went through the automated questions pressing the numbers that indicated I wasn't the person they were looking for.  It moved me to a human and I told him not to call again because I was not the person he called for.  He told me that my number would be removed from his call list.  We'll see.

Even if you press "2" replying to their automated system, they'll keep calling about once each week.

Either it used to be someone else's # or they just pick anumber out of a hat and start calling

Stellar Recovery, another collection agency.  They (and others) have called relentlessly for about a month, calling my business.  They have the wrong number (we don't owe anyone anything) but never stay on the line to actually talk to someone, so they just continually call, get our phone system greeting, and then hang up.
