I have gotten calls from these people for months. How dumb do you have to be? I guess you figure if you aggrevate the hell out of me enough, I'll eventually decide one day that I want to do business with you after all? Does that really make sense to you? Do you not understand in your puny little brains that pissing someone off over and over again, angering them to the point of rage, is not the way to gain their business? What a bunch of f'ing retards.

Got a call @ 3:30 AM this morning on my cell.  They obviously don't care what time zone you live in.  I reached them via the info below that someone had previously posted.  I asked to be removed from their list.  

If I get another call, I'm filing a complaint.

As reported to FCC.  Googled the number and came up with places to gripe about the call.  Answered twice, once the caller wasn't too sure how to go about the call so I told her no thank you and gently disconnected.  Another time I answered and the person promised to remove my company number from their list.  These people called every 8 to 9 minutes for over an hour!  Always waited about 3 seconds before a person would answer (FCC has a name for that, I forget what it is). Twice, after the call disconnected, I *57 (traced) it.  I found the company listed online as Beckett Media, LLC.  Rang the given number but can't get a human.  As I disconnected from that attempt they called again, the caller LAUGHED AND HUNG UP.  I finally tapped *57 again.  

Please, anyone who receives these harassing calls, PLEASE file a report at FCC.  You can report them online.  Filing a report here won't accomplish anything except a chance to vent about it.

They called me 5 times this morning.  I answered the 5th time and they said they were "Romantic Homes" and they'd call back for the owner later.  I think they tailor their "identity" according what business you are ...I sell handmade pottery.  I also got they Beckett recording when I called back.

I own a comic book store and get regular weekly calls from these guy in spite of asking every single time to be removed from their call list.

Today, they called claiming to be "Magic the Gathering" (not Wizards of the Coast, the company who prints Magic).

What is sad is that for years I carried various Beckett publications.  They were regarded as an industry standard for price guides.  These days I don't carry any of their magazines.  Unfortunately for them, the internet -particularly sites like eBay- have made monthly price guides surplus to requirement.  You can get better, immediately up-to-date information with a couple of keystrokes for free.

I feel a little sorry for them, but I wish they wouldn't bug me constantly.

The problem is, when you call "Beckett Media," you get an automated menu, with NO option to speak with ANYONE unless you know which extension they're at. If you experiment in dialing extensions, even "0" for an operator, you'll get an automated voice telling you that "No such extension exists." So, these guys have no desire to take your calls AND there is no apparent way to get them to stop calling you by calling them at that number. I went to their website and sent a "cease & desist" e-mail to their customer service e-mail address - customerservice@beckett.com

I'm not sure if that will get you any traction because I haven't gotten any feedback from them yet.

I misspoke  - Beckett Media is 866-866-5146, not 5147 as I said.

I received 3 phone calls in an hour at my business from this 866-866-5147 phone number - there is a tone and then they hang up. I called back and it is Beckett Media, a Texas company, but there is no way to talk to anyone or leave a message, unless you know an extension number.  I googled Beckett Media and got their real phone number, and called to complain and asked to be taken off the list.  They acted surprised that I had been called - yeah right. Anyway I suggest you call their Texas number and give them an earful.  They appear to be in the business of annoying people - I don't see what money there is in that.  So obnoxious...

This number has called me twice within the last few days. They leave no message.

When you call this number back, it wants you to either enter an extension or the first 3 letters of the person's name you're trying to reach. No operator. Very useless.

I googled the nubmer and came up with BeckettAutomotive.com. They sell subscriptions to automotive publications & maybe some other types. I found an extension number for 1-866-866-5146 on their "contact" page and dialed it. The guy there apologized, and asked for my name & the name of my business. I told him this is a private residential number, we don't give it out, and we are on the do-not-call list.

I asked him to remove us from the list. He said maybe we signed up, and then he tried to sell me a subscripton. I told him no, we don't have any interest in automotive publications, just PERMANENTLY take us off your list - we did not ask to be on it. He said he'd "pass the information along" but I have no faith that they'll do so.

Actually that is Beckett Media not Buckett Media. We are reaching sportscards enthusiasts to subscribe with Online Price Guide. We are not pushing them to subscribe if they're not interested we will quit the call.

hen dealing with these people, you are doing them a favor by calling them back. They know you are live bait. Its the same tactic for spammers online. The "opt out" option means that you a live and responsive target. Holding a conversation with them at any length gives them motivation to find a crack in your armor and make a sale. More than likely, this company is hurting for business and have gone to desperate measures to try to stay in business.

Here is what you do. You answer the phone, let them start their talk and about after 10 words, simply say "not interested - ever" . and HANG UP. That to the "experienced" telemarketer means that you are NOT interested. I always make it a point to hang up very awkward and noisily. Dont add anything, pleasantries will get additional calls. Say, not interested, and hang up.

I am sure since the sports card business has dried up that they are desperate and will try selling any type of subscription service to anyone. They may be over their heads in loans and are faced to dial numbers from a list they bought from some where else.

For the 3am calls. 99.9% of the people in this world are NOT important enough to get calls on a regular basis at that time. I shut down the phones after 11pm and they reopen at 6am. Most phone companies can offer a block caller function. Or even more simple is a list of "do not answer" numbers on a wall near the phone.
