Debt collector. Debt collector calls are regulated by state and federal law.
Problem is, this company just left a robo call message identifying themselves as a debt collector and the party they are hoping to collect from by name without verifying the number called. The person named is not related to this household or phone number, in any way.
Third parties are protected by law from repeated/harassing calls from debt collectors.
The law permits ONE phone call to third parties by the collector to inquire as to a debtor's whereabouts. The collector is permitted to leave a message for the debtor and/or request the debtor return the call. That's it.
So, if you are a third party receiving repeated/robo calls from a debt collector, save the recorded messages, log the frequency and content of the calls and file a legal complaint. Use an attorney with a contingency fee agreement.

This number called me 11 times in 4 minutes. Yet they never leave a message. Have no idea who they are or what they want. It's a tough economy and I do have some debts to get caught up on. But if they don't leave a message, I can't call them back. Anyone know who this is?
