I am at this point right now.  Where they have offered me a settlement of less than what I owed.  I have verbally agreed to it and they are going to send me something in writing.  How is it possible that they do not honor their written settlement agreement????!!? Did you have to pay the other 20%?  I am scrambling to get the money to pay the amount agreed upon.  I cant afford a lawyer.

They say they served me with papers to appear in court a couple years ago and then just this year was served again at work. They froze our bank accounts and when I went to court I told asked what is was for and they said an Aspire credit card. I have never had an aspire credit card??? I went before the judge and they said that Il has a law to drop anything under $4000, so that's what I thought happened. Well low and behold I was served again at work with wage garnishment orders. It said on the papers that I could ask for a hearing and the filing fee is $137. Are you kidding me I already told them it wasn't mine. This is ridiculous.

I just had an arbitration with my wife over her 10 year old debt..........IT WAS AWESOME! And possibly the shortest hearing ever!

It was of course with Blatt Hasenmiller Leibsker & Moore. I researched this company thanks to you all and you're inquiries. As soon as we sat down with the arbitrator and the "Attorney" over speaker phone, the arbitrator said "Are we willing to settle?"  I told the arbitrator I will not settle and I'd like them to prove they are IN FACT representing FIA. Card services and are not a debt collector.

There was a short pause,......Then the "Attorney" stated they are requesting this case be dismissed.

And that was it!......LITERALLY!

My wife actually began to laugh right there, and the arbitrator was completely puzzled.

I had no idea that this placed existed until I had a title search done on my house and a lien showed up. Apparently my ex-wife ran up a credit card and didn't pay it. Although I wasn't even on this acct., AND the debt was totally paid, I am still waiting (3 weeks now) for my "satisfaction of judgement".

When I called back to ask why it hadn't been faxed to me (after repeatedly giving them my fax #) the lady asked me why I didn't just drive in to Chicago and pick it up? (From 30 miles away) I asked her why she couldn't walk across the room to fax it? - She hung up.

Everytime I call I get a different person with a different story. My loan application expires at the end the month. Everything is being held up by this nonsense I didn't even have anything to do with!

Apspire Visa Card.  Collection company.  To make a long story short, fight them.  Deal with Aspire Visa or whatever Bank card you have with the bank company directly.  After paying off my $500 Bank Card, this lawyer comapny sent someone to my house and was sueing me for $2,800 pluse court fees.  I called them, and they said they had no record of payment for the orginial creditor.  I even faxed them the papers of payment paid in full and balance $0, they said it was not a legal document - even though it came from the Bank Card company itself and was an officical bank statement.
So I went to court and the judge ruled them out.
I got a lawyer and sued them for wages lost at work (had to take the day off for court that should have never happened) and for pain (the embarrasement at work for the phone calls and the embarassement of the man serving me papers at my personal residence) suffering (for the stress it caused me and my fmaily).
My job records every phone call (It is mandatory and was able to use it in court because the recording says "Your called is mondatored AND reocred for quality assurance purposes."  So they knew they was being recorded but continued to harrase and threaten me over the phone.... and they kept  harrasing me at work AFTER I ASKED THEM TO NEVER CALL MY JOB AGAIN!  So I could have won so much more, but it would have been another 2 years and I have a life to live.
Now, they can kiss MY a** !
My case was from 2010 and last week I won over $7,500 plus made them pay for my lawyer!  They should have known better - but I guess they do now!  Suckers!  Sure are dummies for a Law office!!!

Today they wanted to know if I could help them locate a guy that I have never heard of.  In the past they wanted me to help them find my husband's ex-brother in law, and another time, my ex-husband regarding their debts.  I am on every no-call list there is.  I don't think these people should be able to call me about someone elses debt.  When we tell them to quit calling, they re-start calling again for the same thing in 2-3 months.

These people call 9 times a day.  They are horrible.  They call themselves a law firm they are a bunch of crooks.  They file illegal judgments against people.  I am a victim of identify theft, they served papers for someone who is non-existent to my address and to someone who did not and never lived at my address.  I did not know until I started getting letters about a judgment against me that I had no knowledge of.  Someone used my name and put their name at the end and used my address and these people are calling like it is no tomorrow.  They are affiliated with Portfolio Recovery and NCO Financial.  They are rotten to the core.  David Israel of Sessions, Fishman and Nathan is behind all of them.  They are very evil people.  They have harressed my family for the past 2 years calling none stop for someone who does not live at my address.  I have to get my phone number change after 20 years because they are evil people.  They are real crooks and the States Attorney's office needs to shut them down including the Portfolio Recovery and NCO Financial and Sessions, Fishman, Nathan Law Firm they are all conjoined together and they take people's personal information and distort it.

I reveived a call from this  number  reffering to an old account with Capital One Bank...The  debt  is not more than 400 dollars with "add on charges this guy wants  up in the thousands....If he or the bank were  honest about thsio matter they  would know that I had a balance due of  less than 400 dollars.  I was the victim of an internet scam for about 129 dollars,  I  reported that to Capital one but they refused to  investigate and charged me for the 129.  I  returned the card and redfused to pay.  Then  the bank started to add late and interest charges. I told the bank that I would pay the 400 owed, they refused and now this lawyer wants thousands

I get a call from Hasemill Blatt (312)704-9440 practically every single day. They have called me numerous times over the past 2 years and has cluttered my answering machine with messages about a debt that someone else owes. I have answered their calls in the past and told them they have the wrong number and to take me off the list, but did they? NO!!! They keep calling daily, sometimes 5-6 times in one day. They leave the most annoying messages on my answering machine. They have gone beyond the point of harassment. They need to be investigated themselves. I think they are scammers.

Well, Thursday I'm off to court with the law firm of Blatt.  I was three months away from the 7 year limit on an old credit card (ex husband's) and they had me served to appear in court.  Well I was fearful they would try to take away my car so I called them and worked out a payment arrangement.  I paid for over a year and when I lost my job I called and asked if I could hold the payment for one month.  I was informed that since I was taking so long to pay (an arrangement agreed to) my file was already in the wage garnishment section.  After much pleading on my part the receptionist said she spoke to the manager and said she had rescued my file from her managers desk but I had to pay.  She lied.  So off to court I go

Hay, wait until they sent out a private investigator who peeps in your home, try to shove his way into your house & defames you to your neighbors. You want dirty. There are laws to help protect you from the PI. These attorneys are the worst. Don't pay them anything. Go back to the original people you obtained credit from. File a complaint with every state & federal agency you can come across. Make that firm start answering question's. Make them liable for their pracitices & actions. Search the web & find out how liable they truly are. Start filing class actions against them for harrassment, invasion of privacy & so on. Look up state & federal laws concerning their practices. File contempt actions against them. There is strength in numbers! File complaints with the Federal Trade Commision!!!

Received a call from this number asking for HR. When asked what the nature of the call was for, I was screamed at by the caller that I would put them through to HR or I would be arrested. I put them on hold and let the HR rep know about this. She took the call and ended up sending it back to me because they wanted the number to our payroll department for wage garnishment. If the caller had said what he wanted in the first place, he could have gotten the number without bothering our HR rep.

This number calls my cell phone and does not leave a message. It is most likely the collection firm Blatt, Hasemiller Lebsker and Moore etc.  A debt I had with Citibank Credit card was being collected for over a year.  This was a $3000 dollar debt, but the collection firms did not offer or accept anything less than $1500.  All my other debtors gave payment plans or accepted lower payments, but this one card through Citi would not.  They threatened and threatened and passed this around from collection firm to collection firm.  Now they're apparently back, but if they get anything it will be through bankruptcy---they really don't make sense as I made plans and am paying up to $70,000 of credit card debts back through plans set up by other banks, which hasn't been easy but its still working thus far.

BHLM is in bed with the FTC, google and search it. Secondly, they WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU BEFORE DURING or AFTER. They are in bed with the devil as well as banks such as CITI. They aren't willing to negotiate, they want it ALL. Forget that these banks that got huge bailouts and giant bonuses, their greed has no end. The beast won't ever be satisfied. Get a lawyer, file complaints (like that'll work) with the FTC every single time they call. They have no souls, they show no mercy. Shame on them.

I just googled it: This number is a Chicago, IL. (local only) Law firm BLATT, HASEMILL, LIEBSKER, & MOORE, LLC only dealing in Collections for various unpaid balances.  Some of their clients are: They are referral only, so just in case you messed up, you can still deal directly with the original creditor.  However, after checking their full name, they are by far one of the sloppiest collection agencies known in the US - right up there with Sentry (another collection service that "constantly gets names, numbers, and amounts wrong", according to the BBB site.  But, most of the "Big" ones do make mistakes.
About the only accurate thing they do is offer a local 800 number to call them back on: 1-866-269-9801 thru 9890  They are 24/7 using off-shore customer service during 2nd/3rd shift, but the call center can only take messages, they cannot (and by law, should not) make promises.
