Computerized auto dialing is spam. If not so, it should be illegal
Calvin 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
Further to my comment earlier, they were supposedly just calling to 'thank me for choosing Aliant for my high speed internet service provider'

They call roughly 3 times a day, i have put my number on the do not call list but they keep calling..like what the f***
Whatever 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
Yes, such an intrusion on your privacy to be called. Why not just simply get off your lazy a** and answer the phone instead of avoiding it? Do you have bill collectors calling and "harassing" you as well?
Here's an idea... get a job.
angry customer 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
every damn day i been getting calls from this company.. and when i pick up the phone they dont say anything. whats the purpose of calling someone's home everyday and not saying anything.
this company needs to STOP THE BU***HIT... its very annoying, if it happens again i will be taking action.

Hey Angry Customer, see my past note, unless its too long for you to read
Pissed off 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
I have called this number back about two weeks ago and had them take my number off their call list. Today in a half hour period I had them call twice. Apparently it doesn't matter if you ask to take your number off they'll still call you. Now is that not illegal could I not sue them for invading my privacy and not taking me off their list two weeks ago. Tell me it will take 3 days to update my info....Pfft two weeks later and their still calling. WTF. Complete bu***hit.

Stop calling my $^&#@%^ cell phone
wtf!! 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
2 calls from this number in 20 minutes and several throughout the day while i'm at work. 3 times i have "removed" my number from the list. Bitched to aliant but what can i do? eastlink dose not provide phone service in my area. Bummer for me!
T 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
It's Bell Aliant trying to sell movie packages and upgraded internet to their customers.
John 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
I am on the national Do Not Call list. If these calls are from Aliant, they are allowed to call you because you are a customer of theirs. I don't know whether they will stop calling if you threaten to change your residential phone to Rogers if they call again.
I am going to call Aliant marketing and ask for the retention department thern negotiate that. It worked when I had a beef with ExpressVU (they offered a discount to new customers but not existing customers when I got my HDTV set).

recieve phone calls wants to know the reasons
Wile E. 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
This number recently began calling again even though I am on the Do Not Call List. Perhaps they are exempt? All you need to do is phone back the number, get an auto-response, follow the instructions and have your number removed from their database. If this gets ignored then the CRTC should deal with them but I will give them the chance this way.

If these calls are out of canada, why in the hell are they calling me in the US? Like the rest , they call several times a day at all hours.
TickedOff 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
Within 5 minutes received two calls from this number, one to my home and one to my business cell. Interesting on the business cell as I only give it out to a few people and it isn't even registered in my name. Would love to know how they got that one.

Interesting tactic, calling from a call center in Halifax. If you aren't in the United States, I suppose you don't have to comply with the Do Not Call list. Still, I can (and have) blocked them from calling me. I also intend to complain to the FCC that the Do Not Call list is being subverted in this fashion.

i am pissed of maximum at who ever this s**t head is
sam 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown

Alejandro 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
Its a outsource for Verizon, they call when your going over on minutes, data, tet messaging or are eligible for a new phone if people wasnt so ignorant and ask questions instead of just cussing people who are doing their job their would know, and dont be so scared to answer the phone unless you worried about bill collectors since your not paying your bills. And actually it is a canada call number but as i mentions early stop being ignorant and ask and youd find out it is actually call centers here inthe US, Michigan and different states do your research...
Saul 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
Hahaha, I'm calling from that number. Minacs is the company, Aliant and the Toronto star operate on those numbers. WE do not dial, the computer dials, and the way the computer dials is through the request of the Client, not the people on the phones. Half the time (can't speak for the Toronto Star) people being called by Aliant are spending to much on Long Distance and Aliant can save them money; or the call is to just inform you of promotions going on within the company. If you ask to be taken off the Calling List, it is ANY company's legal responsibilities to remove you from that list, if your patient enough to here the operator out, the calls about that specific subjest will stop. Not answering the phone causes the computer to put the number at the bottom of the calling list. If that list is small, it regenerates the call back quicker (something should be done about that, maybe a call back in a couple of days or something). And the reason there is no answer immediately when you pick up the phone is because the computer has to register the fact that someone has answered, then send the call to the next available operator to continue the call. I hate marketing and sales, but I gotta pay the bills, its easy, entertaining and temporary. Some people are soo uptight and don't exercise common sense when dealing with little issues like telemarketers. Sheesh.

This idiots call my phone 3 or 4 times a day I see the number on the call display and do not pick up the phone, but it still anoying to have the phone ringing for nothing ! I consider it a gross invasion of my privacy because I didn't ask or authorize them to call my phone and it is my private property !
Joe II 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
Because I'm an Aliant customer I get to be bothered by these people. Being an Aliant customer is my first mistake........ Fool me once.......
Allan 2011-06-06 21:03:29 Unknown
You can call this number back. You get a menu with a selection that allows you to put your number on their 'do no call' list.

You ignorant cretins. What makes you think you have the right to continuous
interupt a family's precious time with your invasive activities.
Perhaps your time would be better spent as moving targets for our military,
