If you are getting calls on your cell, you have a better option.
It's against the law to call a cell phone without the EXPRESS (that means written) permission of the owner.
The cost to Chase for doing so, if you decide to sue them, is $500/call, or, if you send them a letter telling them not to, (certified so you have proof) then it can be up to $1500/call for deliberately breaking the law.
The best part is that the money gets paid to YOU.
If you don't want to sue them by yourself, find a lawyer who's familiar with the TCPA, the law that spells all this out. If you have enough calls recorded or documented, they will probably take the case on contingency, so you don't have to pay upfront.

Got a call from this number alittle after 8 am this morning then again at 12:30 pm. They left no voicemail the first time and there was no answer froom anyone on the other end when I picked up the second time. I am on the do not call registry, but yet that still doesn't seem to work. So now I put this number on my block list.

excessive calling up to 8 calls one day! if this isnt a scam they should still be reported. If this is really chase bank they are making a bad name for possible future customers.

Thanks guys...this number kept calling me for the longest time and I didn't know who it was. Has anybody tried www.stopharassing.me? They give you a local phone number for a one time $50 fee that you can give the creditors or forward all of your calls to. It sounds interesting and I'm thinking of getting it but I don't know anyone that has used it.

This number belongs to Chase. I have had my card for years, never been late until this month. I called them before my payment was due and told them that due to hospital bills was running behind this month and would pay on the 15th. they noted my records but have been calling me nonstop. When I answer the phone, no one is there - or the phone disconnects right after I answer it. I called them back and they said that I had an "exemplary payment record" but that they can call "7-8 times a day" until payment is made!

this is a legit chase number (used also for all the credit cards they manage...including many store cards). having worked for a credit card company AND just staying abreast of current legislation, i know they MUST confirm your info before they say why they are calling. it is illegal to discuss account info with anyone but the account holder. they are not even permitted to say an account exists until you confirm your name. if you do not have any credit cards simply inform them they have reached the WRONG PARTY. these are the magic words, "Wrong party."
if you do have a credit card, the best way to get them to stop is to PAY YOUR BILL. if you would like to pay on the phone, they must accept your payment without a "pay by phone fee." that's the law. the reason it seems they are "targeting" cell phones is because they are calling on an autodialer. the autodialer calls all cell phones for a few hours a day, all place of business numbers, etc. if they are calling you at work, you can file a cease and desist letter or simply confirm your name and say you can't (or won't pay). if you refuse payment after confirming your name, they can't call you at that number for five days.

Repeated calls from this number with no msgs. I did call them, they claim to be Chase. I gave them my name but nothing else. The guy got an attitude with me when I did not provide my last 4 SS # digits and I hung up and called Chase. Chase said it was not them calling me. This does appear to be some sort of scan. Don't tell them anything.

Its Chase Credit Card Collection Service. You are behind in your payments and they intend to make your life miserable so you don't do it again. They also call on 847 488 3003.
I hit ignore snf it goes to voice mail and they don't leave a message? Since its not important enough to leave a message I don't call back.

I receive calls from this number several annoying times a day. They do not leave a message. I answered it the other day and said to take my name off their list. Now the calls are more frequent - just plain harrassment
Ryan 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
Legitimate Chase bank collections/overdue number. If they are calling you, it's best you at least check your online account because you have an overdue account. I was able to pay off over the phone between accounts. Never gave my full account number overcthe phone either so I know they had my info in front of them.
Mike 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
called my home 4 X's already this morning. When I answer, they hang up. Caller ID lists "unknown name".
Greenswan 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
Chase would NEVER Ask for your account number or complete social security number over the phone!
If they are calling you.. they already have that information. Don't be gullible people!
They called me several times today and when I finally answered they told me they couldn't look up that information with my name, Really? REALLY?
nick 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
called me 3 times today. I called back and someone answered. Sounded like they said something about car insurance.
Steve 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
I missed a payment on my Chase card. Dumb, I know, but I literally had no money. Payed more than the minimum this month, and they still call. Harassment? Is this allowed?
ethan 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
no, sorry pal, this is not Chase Bank. Anyone that asks for your credit card number right away is someone trying to get your personal information. Lie to them. Say you have a friend at the FBI and they'll be tracking them down shortly.
Jennie 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
They all me several times a day, never leave a message... I cant stand them..
lol 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
Really for those who claim it is Chase either are part of fraud numbers or are just trying to be jerks. Listen why would those lie saying they do not have anythin to do with Chase and yet are being called by this number. I am called by this number and I have a chase BANK account not credit Card..and obviously a bank would call from 9 - 5 and leave a message and call from the local branch. I never respond to these things but I was surprised by so many people sticking up for this number. Trust me I have had my card companies call and they call your job usually and always leave a brief message.
Christine 2011-06-06 21:03:30 Unknown
This stupid number keeps calling me and I do not pick it up because I dont recogonize it but they call me like 4-6x a day!!!
