I had the same thing yesterday - They gave me 1 phone number to call and then find out who they sold my account to.  then the next and so on.  I called 5 companies before getting back to the first person I spoke with and some how... SHE KNEW the names of each person I spoke with.  Hmmm.  TOTAL SCAM.  My attorney told me that I DO NOT OWE them anything and to ignore all phone calls.

Some jerk called "very important legal matter"

They are telling me they are going to take legal action on some card that i owe money to. i just had my credit recently checked and this NEVER showed up, now i am being harrased about oweing this.

This guy is such a hack job.  He mentioned my neighbor, legal action and threatened to sue me.  Don't go near this guy....he's mean and rude.

Reported this company to California Attoney General, Arizona Attorney General (where I live) and FTC.

I sent  a certified return receipt letter for cease and desist to World Wide Recovery, 2414 South Fairview St, Suite 210, Santa Ana, CA  92704 and it was accepted and signed for by STEPHANIE LA FORTUNE.

I 'm looking forward to seeing this ring of thieves get caught,  these are rip off artists trying to get people to fork over their bank info any way they can.  They use a myriad of different phone numbers and scare tactics,  they have a number of ways to do it.  Best way to deal with them is let your answering machine pick up your calls. They also call from  714-380-5875  and are based in California,
The feds are on to them, but they are like dirty little cockroaches,  you know how they scurry about.
Or you can think of them like flies on a turd pile.   Man are they stupid,   starting with me they have ran down a list of my family including my ex,   what's funny is that none of these relatives are delinquent with their bills including myself.   Everyday they call me I will report and update my complaints with the FTC and state attorney's office.

The more of us that report this the better , since they operate accross state lines and are extorting money by fear and intimidation contact the WASHINGTON D.C. FBI you can send an e-mail at their web site.        TO EVERYONE READING THIS,  TAKE THE TIME TO CONTACT THE CALIFORNIA STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE(they've had to known about these people for years!)  YOUR STATE ATTORNEY, THE FTC,  and FBI.        
These crooks count on people not organizing to do something about them,  flood the authorities with complaints,  this is their job to protect the public !
