Just called Cogeco about this - My charged just showed up on July 2014 from apparently Feb 17 - at 7:30 am.  I'm told that this is the call in game line that was fraudulent, and as the company is now out of business, they are not charging clients for calls they made.  I clearly did not call some game show at 7:30 am on a Monday morning.  I don't trust that my phone can't be used from an outside source and will be cancelling my home line.  I don't use it anyway, and only receive telemarketing calls on it. I am so frustrated by this.. who calls a game show at 7:30 on a monday am ??

Received the $3.99 on our Shaw business bill. Called Shaw, they very graciously reversed the charge.  Said Triton Global is a company that fwd's calls when you've reached the wrong number.  (Wow, crazy, I'm sure we didn't authorise the charge either). Shaw gave me 1-866-340-4990 Triton number so it doesn't happen again in the future.
What a scam.

Same problem with this unexplained $ 2.99 charge. Phoned Videotron my service provider. They reversed the charges

I don't know either.  I was charged $2.99 on my shaw bill.  I called the customer service of shaw.   The  agent asked me to call  the Triton.  I have never used any directory service and the day they said we used the service.  The whole family was not at home.   We could not use the service at that time.  Shaw told me they will reverse our bill next month.  I hope someone can investigate that kind of fraud.  

Called Bell as I also had the charge of $2.99 on my bill for Directory Assistance. Bell Representative was knowledgable to the complaint & the charge was reversed. I feel sorry for the rest of you who were told to call Triton Global.

Got it on my Rogers April 2014 bill. Was told to Google search it, did, found this page (and others). Called back and was told Rogers couldn't reverse the charges. When I was told that the previous Rogers rep said I should Google it and I did and discovered it was a scam, the 2nd rep said they don't have it listed as a scam and that the pages on the Internet could be a scam as well. Raised a stink and the rep said that they would credit me with a goodwill credit but I should keep an eye on my next bill. Jo-er: Yes. They are telemarketers and we have a "Do Not Call List" where in if we put a phone number, telemarketers won't be able to call that number anymore.

I also received a $2.99 charge on my March 2014 bill from Shaw Cable for a 873-888-
-1000 call. When I called Shaw, I was told to get in touch with Triton Global and they would reverse the charge if I didn't make the call. When I called them, Trtion blew me off as well and said I must have made the 1-873-888-1000 call and if the number of that call had been changed or was no longer in service a recording would come on saying for $2.99 I could get the new number. I would never have agreed to this charge even if it did happen but Triton would not reverse the $2.99 charge to me.
I just switched to Shaw Cable a few months back but will be going back to my previous service provider if this happens again. Be aware.

UPDATE: With more digging... When you phone a toll free number and it is out of service they ask you if you would like the updated number. If you hit the key to accept it they charge you a fee. Triton Global service.

Apparently it's a marketing number from Triton Global. My phone service provider reversed the charge. Not sure how it got on there. January 2014 invoice.

Me too on the January/14 bill

I don't know but I was charged 2.99$ on my Bell Canada phone in Sept.2013 bill for a call made at this number.
