i got the same call

They just called me this morning. Same info, I won 955,000 and a Mercedes. He gave me his work info too. Name and badge number. They wated me to buy a green dot card and give the caller the card number.

OK - Now this is the second time I placed a complaint at this site regarding callers who claim to represent publisher's clearing house.  #1 FIRST RULE!

I am getting sick and tired of trying to get rid of these people ---- there was a recent ABC 7 EVENING NEWS STORY Regarding the re-emergence of this Publisher's Clearing House Scam.

Same thing... $950,000 and an new Mercedes...  claiming to represent American Publisher Clearing House...

I just got a call from them claiming to be American Publishers Clearing house stating my cell phone number won $950,000 and an new Mercedes...  February 21, 2013 11:40 AM  I hung up figuring it was a scam...

Just had the same call. After I said this is a scam he denied it and then the conversation became profane and disgusting.

I received this call from a restricted number.  Caller had a very strong, possibly Jamaican or Indian accent.  I was told I won $995,000.00 from Publisher's Clearing House.  He asked me what I thought about that and I told him it sounded too good to be true.  I told him he called a cell phone that is in the do not call registry.  He said I had submitted my number.  I don't enter those types of things so I knew he was full of it.  He asked me how the weather was in Wyoming. He gave me the phone number 876-250-1168 and a claim number of 1876983019666 to call the UPS driver to setup a delivery time for my prize to be brought to me.  I took the info just to get him off the phone.  Googled the number as soon as he hung up and confirmed my suspicions.  Jackholes - should be dropped down a venomous snake infested hole to rot for trying to take advantage of people.  Hope no one falls for this scam.

I answered a blocked call on my cell phone today (12/26/12). The caller (with a strong accent) said he was from America All State Verification Company and that I won $995,000. I was very skeptical as he did not say my name during the entire conversation. He said my name was put in a raffle and it was randomly selected as a Wal-Mart shopper. He did not ask for any personal information... not even my name (hahaha). Through my questions, he knew I was skeptical and tried to reassure me that this was 100% the real-deal and not a scam; but of course he would. He gave me this number to call (1-876-250-1168) along with a claim number to claim my prize. Needless to say, I called the Federal Trade Commission instead. I am saddened, but yet thankful for this site. Thank you from Hawaii.

Just got call from this number stating to have won New
mercedes and $955,000 from Readers Digest... But needed to get $475.00 on a green dot card first...after entertaining Mr James Carter as he calls himself for approximately 45 minutes...i informed him that 2 sheriff deputies and my attorney would be here upon arrival of my winnings...his attitude changed quickly....i had already researched and saw that Mr Carter was not the general manager as he had stated...once telling him that he wasn't dealing with a dummy and I was on to his scam...Mr Carter (so he calls himself) got loud yelling telling me I wasn't using my head...i assured him he is not the great conartist he desires to b ....should change or update his bogus phone number cuz its blasted on Google... But anyways beware people there are lots of sick people trying to get over innocent people...just didn't get this couple

I just received a call from 1-876-250-1168 and the caller identified himself as working for PCH, or Publishers Clearing House.  I did not give him my name or any information. He then gave me a call back number of 1-896-398-9942. This number had a machine answering. He said I was randomly selected from having a good payment history, also randomly selected from AT&T cell phone customers or WALMART customers. He said I had won something, but he couldnt tell me what until I gave him my personal information. I asked him to stop calling me. This is a scam, don't give your info!

My parents 79 & 74 just called to tell me they won all this money and a car. They were asked to go to walmart  or walgreens to buy a green card for 499.00. A UPS driver would come and pick this up. They went to walgreens to ask the manager about it. She thankful told them to call the police and report the number. I just spoke with my mom and when she told me all I could think was PLEASE tell me you did not give them your bank account info. I told her right away this was a scam. She said they had already reported it to the police. I asked for the number got online so I could find information for her. First thing I found was this page. I read her all the comments listed above. So sad people try to do this and do not even think twice about it.

Just got a call from this number and was told I won a car and a check from PCH.  The guy told me he was calling from UPS and had a certified letter for me from PCH.  Said it was extremely important that I called him back this afternoon since I was at work.  I hung up and googled this number and found out I'm not the only one.

I recieved the same call. They told me I won $850,000 and a Mercedes Benz. I immediatley typed in the number on Google to see if any spam calls had been reported and it brought me to this page. So needless to say the conversation was ended.

Got a call telling me I had won a Publisher's Clearing House prize of $955,000 and a 2011 Mercedes Benz.  All I had to do was go to WalMart and purchase two "green" Card Refills. One for $500.00 and one for $195.55.  They promised me I would just hand over the cards to the delivery personnel when they had delivered my Car and Check and that I would not be asked for any numbers off of the cards I would purchase.  They next asked me how many digits were in the card number, and then they changed their story and tried to have me give them the card numbers.  They told me that these cards were fully refundable from WalMart, they are NOT. Then they gave me a number of 876-382-1979 to allegedly contact the driver delivering my car.  This number was disconnected.  This is absolutely a scam!!!  I did not bite, but, I made them waste an hour on the phone....When I called them on the scam, they called another cellphone in my house to "substantiate" their claim of legitimacy...  They have obviously hacked the phone records, or have some illicit link to the phone company in Jamaica...

I also received a call telling me I won $955,000.00 and a 2011 Mercedes Benz.
The caller provided me with his name, telephone no., batch id no., and other nos. for me to supposedly claim my prizes that would be delivered to my residence, in Louisiana, via UPS.

Said my phone number was chosen randomly and I was 3rd prize winner for the month of October.

When I asked about how my no. was chosen, he mentioned something about me paying my bills on time and did mention a credit card at Wal-Mart (so not sure if he was trying to relay the same info about buying a green card ?)

I told the caller I needed to take his name and no. to call him back and of course when I tried to return the call from a land line, the message states "outgoing international calls are barred".......SO YES, THIS IS A PRANK CALL !!

Called to tell me I won a 2011 mercedes and $955,000 dollars, but I need to purchase green cards at Walmart in order to get my prize.  What a joke!!!!
