Prank Call
The 876-250-4865 number called my phone but I did not answer it as it reflected Jamaica.  I dont know anyone in Jamaica and I have not visited Jamacia so there was no need for me to answer.  The caller from the 876 number turned around and called my mother.  My mother called me and asked me to investigate the number.  She noted the caller told her she was a PCH winner and had one a million dollars and merceeds.  The caller asked her if she lived near Fayetteville, Arkansas and how long would it take for her to get their to claim her prize.  She hung up on the caller as soon as he asked about her location.

Prank Call
Received a call from 876-250-4865 JM at 7:30 am, CST notifying me that I had won $3.5 mil. in the publishers clearing house sweepstakes and UPS would be delivering the check in 1 hour. To claim the prize I was told to go to the nearest CVS or Walgreen to buy a green dot card to load $199.00 to cover my portion of the tax. The guy felt compelled to bring God into the conversation when I protested the legitimacy of the call. I told him to bill me. When I got tired of trying to understand his broken English I hung up.
If you are a legitimate sweepstakes winner there are no upfront fees and/or taxes, you will have no language beerier , and you are highly favored by God

Just got a call at 1500hrs her in Texas saying his name was John Lucky and I had won 18 million dollars because I purchased over $10 worth of stuff from Walmart. He then said he was from PCH and that I needed to get a Green Dot Card and put $255.00 on it all the while why I was on the phone with him to and from Walgreens. Totally stupid. I just hung up. I really hope people don't actually fall for this crap. This is why it is so hard to trust people in the world today.

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:

Also:
It is a scam:
http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize ? DON?T!  It?s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it?s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON?T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ?live and in person? by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

876-250-4865 called me claiming I won $2.5 million from the Publisher Clearing House.  He represented himself as Mr. Moore and had an accent. He called before 8:30am eastern time.  I asked for a call back number and did not give any personal info.Total scam.

Received this call, Caller ID stated from Jamaica, and could barely understand this person.  Asked who they were and they said Publishers Clearing House.  I said, no, you're not, you're from Jamaica, and he told me "F--k you!
Nice company!
