Got a call from this number saying I won $950,000 and a mercedez benz from PCH. He said (with a heavy Jamaican accent) that I had to pick up my package at a local Walgreens before the bank closed (sketchy much?) I called him back later and then for some reason the location changed to Walmart and I had to pick up a claim ticket...I laughed and said to forget it. He had me going for a while...can't believe I almost fell for it! Does PCH even contact via phone call??

My Jamaican caller said I won $150,000 in cash, 1.8 million in check AND a gift basket of perfume & fragrances. He said he was calling on behalf of Fed Ex. I asked him who he worked for: Fed Ex. When he said I needed to pay to clear the prize I laughed & he started swearing, so I hung up. Nice try!

The man on the phone wanted me to go to WalMart and get a "green/white money fac card" while he was on hold on my home phone.  He said lawyers would be coming by with $75,000. cash after I got back home and relayed the number on this green/white card.  He also said that they would be bringing a $1.8 million certified check.  I told him that it was a bunch of bull . . . . .

Been having a long call from these people. They claim they are from Publishers Clearing House and thaat we won 7.8 mil. They want money put on a green dot card in the amounts of $250.00 register the car, $500.00 on another and $248.00 on another. then they want you to give them the card numbers to confirm before they will send the prize crew over. This is one big scam. Don't beleive them when they try to get you excited with the prizes and money. They cannot confirm any data from the PCH correspondence you received in the mail. They will connect you with supposedly people from PCH. They will call and talk to you for hours. My wife was on the phone with them while we got the cards. We almost fell for this.

"You have won a Mercedes, mon.  An' nine-hundrid, fity-five t'ousan' dollars, mon.   An' addishunal cash prizez of two-hundrid, twenty-five t'ousan' dollars cash, mon. You unnerstan'?  Yes now... You will need da numbers and da cash card to pay da shipping cos' of only two-hundrid, ninety-nine and ninety-nine, bud we don' take da cash.  You need a payment card.  You can get payment card at Wal-Mart."

Beware, people.  I called PCH and gave them the information that I got.  Phone numbers and names.  The names are no doubt fake.  The number was local, but I didn't call it back.   Maybe I should have gotten them to come to the door with the "prizes" and my Police Lieutenant friend.

We were given this number to call to claim a Publisher's Clearing House prize.  Other sources indicate that PCH states that it DOES NOT contact winners by phone at all. The respresentatives wanted to have the "taxes" paid up front before the prize was awarded - also a good sign that it's a scam.
