I just received a call on my cell phone from 1-876-288-5469 saying that I won a check for paying my cell phone bill on time for the past 3 months. When I asked the guy what was my name and what phone carrier I had he couldn't tell me. He said that my number showed up in their system and that is why he was calling me to get all my information to be able to send me my check. I'm no dumbie, I wouldn't give him any information and hung up on him. The number is from Jamaica.  Icalled the number back, and a guy by the name of Mr. John King answered and said he was with American Claims Awards. I told him that he called me and I wanted to know what he wanted. He then asked my name, and I told him that he was the one that called me and he should already know who I am. He hung up on me.

This guy stated his name was John King from Hobbs, NM. And his Company was American Cash Rewards.
Heavy accent and very hard to hear and understand. I told him he sounded like he was from the Middle East or India. He told me he was from NY but now lived in Hobbs. He called me back because I couldn't hear him. Told me I had won $750,000 and a new 2013 C Class Mercedes in a drawing because I paid my "pocket phone" bill on time for 3 months. He stated his company works with all the major phone compaines and they got my number from the phone company because I pay my bills. He wanted to deliver all this today to my home. All I needed to do was go to Walgreen's or Walmart, see a cashier and get a registration card to give to the person who would come to deliver me my check and car. I would need to show him a DL or ID or Passport along with the registration card to claim my prize. And then I would have to go to the bank with that person to deposit my winning check so I could see it was not a scam. I told him I was going to check him out on the Internet and told him I would call him back.
The address given was:
705 Old Ranch Road
Hobbs, NM
Told me his company was located on a 100 acre farm.
This is a scam and I won't be calling him back!

Ha! I just "won" $3.5 million and a Mercedes. Then I laughed and asked him my name and he hung up instantly.

I got a call on my cell phone, that I had won a check for $750,000.  So you guys won more than I did.  But I told him I wasn't interested & take my name off of his calling list, then I hung up.  I didn't even listen to his pitch.  He was an American....no accent.  Peter somebody.

I received nearly the exact same call today, only it was 1.7 million.  He also gave me three colors of the car to choose from.  I was sure it was a hoax from the start so was constantly grilling him about random parts of his pitch.  He claimed he was in the same state that I live in but was unable to answer any of my geographical questions without typing.  I could actually hear him typing as he was stalling.  He called several times.  The only strange thing is that he never asked me for any of my information.  I forgot the name he gave me so just called it back and the name he gave me was John King.  Or at least that is what I think he says.  The accent is a bit thick.  He does say sir, and mister a lot.

I have received the same call and have requested they delete my phone number. I work at one of the largest financial institutions in the world and immediately know this was a scam.  I let then know that but it did not stop them from trying to convince me that I had won a 2013 Mercedes.

Got a call from this number from a man identified as Peter White (with a foreign accent). He said that my cellular telephone number was selected as a winner of a 1.5 million dollar lottery and a brand new Mercedes vehicle. He would also meet me at the local Wal-Mart store parking lot to claim my money and prizes. He also said that he and a security firm would accompany me to my bank to make sure that my deposit and money would arrive safely. I told him that this had to be a hoax and I would a legal consult in this matter. He said that this "international lottery company" has a website in order for me to verify their validity. He called over and over for about seven times saying that this is "real". Finally, I quit answering the phone and he stopped calling. I checked the number through Google and found the number was assigned in the country of India. I am reporting this so others can be made aware of this possible fraud.
