Prank call.

Received a call from this number indicating that they were from a shipping company (either UPS or the USPS) trying to deliver a package to me, but needed additional information. Wanted us to call back with validation number for claim.  Luckily, we know better...  hope everyone else learns that these people cannot be trusted and will take everything you've got if you give any information to them!

Same thing here, called my work looking for someone that has never worked here. Said he was a US Marshall. I knew he wasn't. I called and left a message with the US Marshall in my area, to see if this was a scam but after reading everyone's comments I can see I was right.

Today, got a message that I needed to call him back asap. Publishers clearing house out of Las Vegas. We had just won 2.5 million dollars with $ 20,00 available now. Call back for processing information and pre-tax fee. LOL ! I played with him alittle, then hung up. Come on people. SCAM !!! We still fall for this. I say call this guy back, tell him that is great, you want in. Tell him his money is on the way, that way he has to make his way from his village in Jamaica ( where this call originates from ) to the post office every day. LOL ! That would be fun for about a month of so...

Got the same call as a above for a call that a US Marshall has a certified check and that I need to call back and pick up my check.

I got a very similar call on 29 May. A call from African royalty is a scam, but I think a call from a US Marshall is a crime.

A friend called tonight advising the same story as NikkiG. Subject that was called was older widower near Omaha.

Guy called and left a voicemail saying his name was James Carter Active US Marshall badge number blah blah blah. He stated he had a certified check at the customs in Seattle which is where I used to live but if needed to be sent to me via UPS.  Has anyone else encountered this?
