Sounds like a telephone scam for sure. Get the telephone number he is calling from and report him to your local police or fraud office. You may also want to have some fun and call him in the middle of the night and tell him he won the lotto!

I also heard about this scam. Here is a telephone number for the police in Jamaica who will help get these people to stop their fraud.
Contact the Office of the Police Commissioner ? (876) 927-4421 or (876) 927-4422 ? and they will indicate the appropriate unit / department for you to make this report.
Also, you can email cibhq@jcf.gov.jm
Good luck.

Earl Ball, a male with a thick Jamaican accent called to say I had won 1 million dollars. He asked for my name, bank account information, marital status, address, and other personal information. This is a telephone scam. When I called him back and pretended to be someone else, he denied having any knowledge of any lottery winnings. He was calling from 1-876-392-9927 which is a number in Jamaica. If Earl Ball calls, hang up fast. Call your local consumer protection agency / fraud hotline.
