I had met someone online from Jamaica. We had a falling out and now he is calling me and messaging me telling me all kinds of scary things. Things like I should have met your daughter first. Another is lucky I didn't go there or I would have been beat. That the men there bring women from overseas for using them and hurting them. I have blocked him from a lot of my things and he still manages to message me. Is there any legal action I can take to ensure that he cant message and harass me or any other female he may meet online? his phone number is 1-876-509-8434

1-876-655-2842 harrassing phone call at 12:45 at night and it is now 12:56 am.  Anyone reading this please consider this a big complaint.   STOP CALLING MY HOUSE AND SOUNDING LIKE A STERN B*****D SOME BLACK MAN FROM JAMACIA .... I've been getting 2-3 calls everyday from these people, everytime I ask them to quit calling they say go f*ck myself. Does anyone know if you can block numbers on an iPhone without jail breaking it?

I had 876-570-8404 call me tonight. They have called several times a day for months, and have always been rude. However, today took the cake. I answered and said PLEASE stop calling my house, you have the wrong number, stop calling. The guy says I like your voice, and I said well i don't like yours, stop calling me. He then said you have a very sexy voice, and I said OMG really? I said again, please stop calling. He then said s*** my **** for me, and I said OMG NOOO! He said I will give you 60 u.s dollars to s*** my ****. I then hung up. I called the local police, but they can't do anything. So I submitted it to the FBI.

multiple numbers have called my number trying to get me to send money, money orders, check information, credit card info..etc saying I have won millions of dollars and some say I won a car..haha.. I called one of the numbers back trying to get some information about them so I could report them..Like they'd give me correct info..but it was worth a shot. When I told them I was going to report them they said they knew everything about me and would have me killed within 45 minutes. hmm.. That was over an hour ago.. I'm still here. It's just sad that these people can continue to harrass people. I hope something is able to be done to stop them from taking advantage of people who do not realize what's going on.

most of these calls are from Kingston Jamaica but some are from washington and other places..many are from unknown or private numbers.

What you had on the end of that line was a dirty,black "Chimpanzee" dressed in filthy shorts and a ripped up wifebeater shirt. He was sitting in a small leanto with chickens/roosters running around (you can usually HEAR them in the background).His "Computer" was a "Etch-A-Scetch" that he was looking up your info on.
They DO use "MagicJacks" registered so they LOOK like they are in 702 (vegas) 775(reno) 305(florida) 256(alabama) and a few others....
BE SMART! ask yourself who in their right mind would hire someone that SOUNDS like these Dingbats?

Record the calls! Great for parties! when you tell them you are recording them they WILL go away!
Use fake names like Joe Namith, Joe Biden,Burt Reynolds..they have no idea who they are!!!
Use a fake address, vacant lot, abandoned building, police station..you get the idea :)

Pretend like you can't hear them! (most of the time this is real)
String them along for DAYS! tell them you want to send them a check and get their mailing address

This type of harassment from Jamaica plagues us daily...but our "wonderful government" is useless in this situation.  Apparently they have no way to stop international calls.  (surprised?)

I must have 15 different phone numbers with the 876 area code that I forwarded to "donotcall.gov" and they said they have no way to stop this a** from calling ALL DAY LONG!   I guess he's just an absolute moron who gets his kicks from irritating people.  Gee.  Maybe he works for the government?

And, of course, the phone company now wants you to purchase yet another service that might work???  Don't waste your money.  I'm praying this idiot's fingers fall off.

I have filed a complaint with both the do not call and ftc, I don't expect that much will be done. Calling my phone carrier who's only solution was to change my number and that is to much of a hassle. I now screen all calls and just don't pick up unless I know the number. the calls are getting less and less, just hope they give up soon. These people are relentless and I have found out laugh when you say you will call the police, one guy laughed and said go ahead b@#$%, and a few other words. I know it is annoying that you can't answer your own phone so if you have caller ID, just screen your calls or let the machine pick up.

I just had one call so far from this number and it only rang one time. I called back and I got the recording from a cell phone company that their mailbox was full.

In addition the the number we are all talking about here, there are two numbers who have routinely called me over the last few weeks (876-463-4620 and 876-463-9642).  Same stupid story...with a little twist of satisfaction.  I called both numbers back...an illiterate woman was on the phone for the first number, and an aggressive man on the second.  I have been to Jamaica many times, and know several local insults...and used them.  This caused the woman to tell me she was going to call the police on ME for harassment (hahahahaha).  When I talked to the man, I was able to continually insult his intelligence for almost 2 full minutes before he began making threats to my family.  At that point I hung up and blocked his number.

This number from Jamaica, is calling my phone everyday. Telling me Ive won a prize, and all I need to do is send them a $200 fee. I used to do a little telemarketing myself (business to business) so I decided to have a little fun with them. I kept interrupting their pitch by asking questions. I actually put this guy on "hold"! (holding the phone up to the TV on a music channel) They didnt give up. After talking to them for about twenty minutes to half an hour, I told them to shove the prize up you know where. They still call but I dont answer anymore. These guys will offer you anything! And they dont even sound real. Sometimes they tell me they are from "customs" or the "Pennsylvania -cough cough- of Justice".  They are so pathetic, but it must work on some people. Because they keep trying.

We have been receiving these calls from three to seven times a day now for three weeks. I have reported this to the donotcall complaint site, but don't hold out any hope for resolution. As has been said, these calls are coming from outside the US. My next port of call, is to call my local phone company provider and check to see if I can have all calls from Jamaica blocked. I am quite sure that if they can, there will be an added charge on my next phone bill. Most phone companies are NOT very helpful when it comes to policing their phone lines and systems.

The number that shows up the most often is ... 1-876-393-2120. The other one is 1-876-5743 and the third one comes across as "Private" or Unknown Caller.

Same thing.  Some company of unknown type from Kingston, Jamaica calls a couple times a day, a few days a week.  The phone only rings once each time.  WTF is the point?  I usually screen my calls anyway.  At this stage its only mildly annoying.  Bunch of idiots.

I actually tried this and my phone company said that it was no good to trace the calls because it is out of the continental United States.  

I also tried calling back the phone number and some lady answers the phone "hello" and wouldn't say anything else to me.  I told her that I was going to contact the authorities if the calls continued and she said "go ahead call police".  I think that this company knows that they can contiually get away with these nuisance calls.  I am so tired of dealing with this.

I did file a complaint at donotcall.gov in hopes that they would do something about it.  Here's to hoping they can!

We have the same problem with the same number that you listed.  I called my telephone provider and they recommend filing a complaint at donotcall. gov

If that does not remedy the situation they said to do three call traces on the phone number (by not answering the call and then hitting *57 to record the fact that they called you home three times), after you have done that three times call the annoyance bureau at 1-800-582-0655 and file a complaint.

The only other option the phone company gave me was to buy their no solicitation service that should stop all unwanted calls.

Just some ideas that were passed on to me and I am going to try.

called have been coming to me approximatle 3 times daily, about 8:30am, 9:15 am and 11:30pm for several weeks, always Monday through Friday with the exception of one call last Saturday, caller will not speak when I answer and usually hangs up before voice mail picks up if I do not answer.  I have tried calling back and once got a person two supposedly di not speak english and the second time got a voice mail.  In both instances left a message to stop harrassing me.  The calls have continued.  I called my service provider and they stated they could do nothing but change my number.  They verified the number originates in Jamaica.

Had about 5 calls from this number yesterday (9-25-07). Each time the phone just rang once. After looking it up on Reverse Phone Detective the number belongs to someone or some company in Kingston, Jamaica. Either it's from a collection agency (engaging in their automated phone harassment techniques)or a telephone surveying company.  Last week I was getting harassed from another phone number and traced it to Premiere Credit. This could be one of their entrepreneur consultants (as they call them).
