I received a call on my cell phone from this number on 12/27/2013 at 12:28 p.m.  As I was at work and didn't know the number, I sent it immediately to voice mail.  On my voice mail, I can hear a male voice saying a curse word as he hangs up.  I worked for the phone company for 20+ years, and didn't know where 876 was.  So I looked up the area code on the internet.  This site was one of the responses.  Thanks!

DO NOT CALL ANY 876-xxx-xxxx number unless you know who you are calling.  It is a scam to get you to pay exorbitant international calling rates that the scammers then split with the equally corrupt Jamaican phone company.  It has been postulated that the caller IS the Jamaican phone company.

Giving the person that calls you an ear full is kind of fun.  

Received a call from someone with Publishers Clearing house from this number and gave another 876 number to call for more information.

Gave the idiot an earfull after wasting about 10 minutes of his time.

I received a cell phone call from this number at 10:30 a.m. today.  The man calling was had an oriental voice, said I had won publishers clearing house $250,000,00 and a new car, said they are in Minnesota and are 35 minutes away. I asked where he is right now and he said 'we don't know'. I asked him 'if you don't know where you are, how do you know you are 35 minutes away?' He said  'we are in Minnesota and if  you don't believe me I can't help that. You need to call 1-876-503 3942 and ask for agent Malone and ask him any questions you like...so call him, ok, you need to call that number'.   I called it and a very odd female voice came on saying 'PUBLISHERS CLEARINGHOUSE' !! rather loudly, you want to talk to an agent? I didn't say anything and she put me on hold for some seconds, then a very low toned masculine male voice came on asking me to verify my address. I asked him what address he had and the line went dead.      When I got home I called that number and an odd male voice came on and loudly whispered who is this... who is this...say someting... say someting.

Area code 876 is Jamaica so expect to be charged international rates for your call. It's a scam, report it to ic3.gov.

I received a cell phone call from this number at 12:37 p.m. today.  The female calling said that I had won $250,000.00 and a new car.  Knowing this was not possible because I had not entered any contests, I listened, anyway, but could not understand most of what she was saying.  she said the prizes would be delivered via UPS and some other word that I did not understand, but that I had to call 1-876-408-5692 and ask for Agent Malone.  I called that number and Agent Malone spoke to me in the same dialect as the female did; he was male.  He said that I would be received the prizes this afternoon and for me to be home.  I then asked him if it was a scam and if he was a scammer,and he immediately hung up.  No asking for anything.  Who can I report this to?
