I received a call from this number.  The guy claimed to be calling from The Publishing Clearance House.  He stated that since I pay my bills on time and shopped at Wal-mart, that my number was entered into a drawing with 355 other Americans.  I won 4.8 million US dollars and a 2014 Mercedes convertible.  He stated that I needed to go home because they were 45 minutes away from my residence.  I asked what address do you have.  He stated we have GPS computer system and we can pull up your location.  I am baffled at this point because 1. my cell phone is not in my name or address, 2. when I shop at Wal-Mart I have never provided my cell phone number and 3. the GPS on my phone is disabled.  So I continue to ask what location do you have.  He became upset and started yelling, "Do you want to receive your prize?  If so, call me back."  and hung up the phone in my face.  This is too funny.

Prank Call
I got a call from 876-464-7681 and I couldn't hear anything on the other end. I tried hanging up and calling the number back, but my cell phone provider wouldn't allow me to make the call. A female voice recording kept coming on saying that I needed to pay my phone bill, which I didn't understand since my bill had just been paid and couldn't be due already. I don't know anyone in Jamaica so I'm wondering if this number could also be a part of the same scam.

EmClayton,   this particular colony of foul smelling, woolly headed little Jamaican beasts  appears to be working the California area (you can anticipate being called again around this time next month.) You might be surprised to learn that over 30,000 calls are placed DAILY from Jamaica to the United States for the purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. In most cases, these foul smelling creatures have only your phone number and will try to extract additional information from you using the ruse of trying to verify your correct name/address so they can deliver the prize package.

I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from something calling itself "John Lee" (last night it was "David Carter".) In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these black stained rodents.

When these roaches call again - which they will - please record the call and share that information here in this forum. Please include your area code - JUST your area code - along with your posting name. Thanks.

I live in California, and I got a call this morning at 5AM from this number. I did not recognize it and I turned over and went back to sleep. As I have read the previous posts, I'm glad that I didn't pick up the phone.

Someone called me from this number claiming to be a David Johnson from Publishers Clearing House. He had a very strong accent and said that I had won $758,000.00 and a brand new 2014 Mercedes. He gave me a conformation code and also a check number. He asked for me to call him back at that number so that the call could be recorded for quality assurance. I asked why I needed to call back and not record now. He started to get irritated but continued. Then he asked me to get into my car and drive to walmart. I did not get into the car but I told him that I did. As soon as I said that he started swearing at me saying f*** you, you f****ng idiot.  Im not dumb I know you are not in the car. I have been a scammer for a long time you f****ng dumb idiot. So I hung up.

The Newest version of the scam came across my phone today. They said they were from Publishers Clearing House and I won $270,000.00 and a new Malibu. He then proceeded to ask me to call him back on the number he called me from and ask for David Washington. Of course I didn't call as I knew this was a scam for sure. He stated that the owner of the number I have on my company phone was the winner so I told him it was a company phone and he needed to contact the owner! HA!

Got the call while standing on a ladder changing a florescent tube. After having him repeat, for the third time, his speal, it became apparent that he was reading from a script so I asked him to put my # on the do not call list and told him I was hanging up...
Since they are calling from the same # it ought to be easy enough for the authorities to act. Sounds like the same individuals to me.

Got a call at 6:30pm Hawaii State Time but I was cooking dinner. At 7:47 pm I got another call from the same number. I picked up and this guy with a real heavy accent said my computer was infected with a virus and for a $1000 fee he could fix the problem. I asked the man how he got my number. He gave me the runaround but I cut him off by telling him that I have Time Warner internet and they would have notified me immediately if the net failed and I just got my desktop back from bestbuy today for repairs. This moron insisted that TimeWarner and BestBuy doesn't know what they are doing. If I gave him my password, he could fix my desktop from where he's at. This ignoramus thinks I'm going to give him sensitive information over the phone fogettaboutit!I told him no and I wanted to speak to his boss and tell them not to call. A lady came on and tried to convincd me to give her my password. I told her that I am going to call BBB. She asks what is BBB? I got suspicious and asked where she was calling from and her response was deceptive and said Eastern Time Zone. I asked what city and state. She said the gulf. I said thats not what I asked, where are you calling from. She said Kingston so I said I'm calling the FBI. Thats when she hung up the phone.Let this be a warning to everybody that liars thieves and crooks are willing to steal your identity your money and your peace of mind. Why would I pay $1000 to a F'N Jamaican greasemonkey to fix my desktop when I can go to a local company to fix it. If there ever was a problem, I could go to small claims court and post any problems on Yelp and the BBB. Not with Jamaica!

Both my wife and I got a call this morning on our cell phones form this number. The individual indicated his name was Michael Billings, but his English was soooo poor I finally asked for a supervisor. A lady with slightly better English, calling herself Nicole, took over. She assured me it was a legitimate and sponsorde by UPS Delivery Services. I had won $158,000.00 US Dollars and a new Chevy Malibu, license plate number: 002 UH. All I had to do was go to a Wal-Mart or Walgreens or CVA Pharmacy and buy a Green Dot Cash Pack Pre-Paid Card. They would meet me at my work or home and present me with my winning documents, accompany me to a Bank of America, and I'd get my check and card if I had my Pre-Paid card and receipt. It sounded fishy to me. I called several local UPS Stores, none of them were aware of any sweepstakes going on. I called the coroprate UPS offices in GA, they too were not aware. I hope no one falls for this kind of scam.

Call Originates from Jamaica--at least as listed on my caller id. A man on the phone tries to present himself as a UPS employee to engage conversation and ask for personal information.
Obviously a scam as UPS does not generally call people.

A Dozen Ways to Protect Yourself
The next time you get a "personal" letter or telephone call telling you "it?s your lucky day," the Federal Trade Commission encourages you to remember that:

1. Legitimate sweepstakes don?t require you to pay or buy something to enter or improve your chances of winning, or to pay "taxes" or "shipping and handling charges" to get your prize.

If you have to pay to receive your "prize," it?s not a prize at all.

Caller ID shows originating from Kingston, Jamaica. Caller said they were UPS and needed to "confirm our address for a certified check to be delivered". Obviously a scam. Always ask THEM what they think your address is before volunteering ANY information.
