I got the same phone call from that number. It was hard to understand and sounded as if they were using a computer animated voice. Not going to bother replying to the message. I never entered any kind of contest.

On Oct 26th, a cell call came from George @ 876-485-3749 who called to say mom won a Mercedes and a million bucks which she could claim at her local WalMart. Mom just needs to pay $750 for shipping & handling. George didn't want my mom to tell me about this because it will be a surprise! A half hour later he calls back wanting to bring the car over and meet up with her. I was still on mom's cell's speakerphone and he heard me tell mom we were turning his # into the local police. He hung up and stopped calling.
My mom's living center management and the local police said there's been a rash of these calls for weeks. Unfortunately, the police said now that my mom engaged talking with this guy, her number will get passed around and/or sold as potential prospect. Sadly, she answers too many of these sweepstakes mailings. Yesterday, a phony NY call came in allegedly from Publisher's Clearing House. You can check out my other post under 516-830-3932 for those details.
I want to know how to bring down these scammers and shield my 89 year old mom from these predators?

Man called saying I won 2.5 million and a mercedes benz and why did I not contact them to claim prize.
Then asked me to verify name, address, marital status and age, last occupation. Then wanted me to pay
350 tax before receiving prize. I told him I didn't believe him and I wanted to see it in writing and then hung up.
He called me right back, I did not answer.

Got the same call, except it was for 2.5 million dollars and a car (mercedes, I guess). He claimed the company was called, "Winner's International" and claimed his name Joseph Mullins. I needed to pickup the package that needed to be delivered. As I probed him more, he said "men in grey overall suits would be at the door to deliver my prize."
I would not trust this one bit.

Almost incomprehensible call from a man, the company name was garbled, who said I have a package waiting. He went on to describe it as $5,000,000, and/or a car (couldn't understand), and/or something I didn't catch. I played the message twice. He wanted to know why I was delaying retrieving my package as it had been waiting for pick-up for three months.
When I tried to check the number, it is an exchange in Jamaica.
The call type: Prize?
