This number 876-583-7440 is contacting the elderly in my area of rural Alberta for an oil and minerals investment.

Person called and asked if I had purchased anything from Walmart?  I told him I did in 1989, what is this about?

He said you want free gov't money?  I said who is this. He hung up.

He called again a few minutes later, and asked if I wanted free government money.  I told him I work for the government, and I will be calling an office about this call and giving them his number.  He then said "F You" and hung up.

Be careful, these scammers will steal you info or money, maybe both.

I received a call from this number 876-583-7440 two days in a row by some guy using a voice distortion box telling me I had won $25,000.00 Canadian money. To receive it I needed to go to Walmart, I stopped him at that point and told him not to contact me again. I would like to have the ability to trace these calls so we can nab these people doing these scams.

Phone call from 876 583 7440 stating we had won $25,000   (yeah right)...Hubby stated, ' so send me a cheque' To which he said, we need some info.   Hubby:  'If you have my phone number, you have all you need; send a cheque'.

Got the same scam here.  $2500 to go to Las Vegas and the canadian taxes are all taken care of.  I kept him on the phone for  about 20 minutes...had to him somthing.

Received a call saying I had ' won ' $150,000 and all I had to do was go to the post office, obtain a money transfer in the amount of $150 with the sender being listed as an ANGREA MORRISON and myself and send it to said Angrea Morrison, Jamaica W.I. Lawyer. . . .Right, what I won was the chance to be ripped off for $150. The sad part is some people fall for these scams
