i have been receiving phone call after phone call for months from this person for almost a year now, im talking like 20 times a day.  I know this is a scam and I let him know it. I told him I reported him to the FBI and he got angry.  he then would call one right after the other and just breathe into the phone.  finally I told him that his calls were being traced and he blew up.  he threatened that he knew where I lived, he was going to come to my house and rape me, and kill me after her told me explicit details of what he was going to do to me while he was raping me.  I ended up immediately changing my # and called the police.  This all happened today.  oh and he said he was from publishers clearing house, but many calls before he said he was from American cash awards company

Sad but some older adults still believe they won and give the money for "tax and fees"   My mother-in -law just lost $500

True dat!  Sometimes there is nothing anyone can do about a stupid-stubborn combination.  But at least I tried.  If that happens, I just give up and leave the poor soul to his/her own devices.  I know I do make sarcastic comments at times but I am trying better to save them for those that most deserve it.

I saw on one thread a while back where you told someone it was a scam, but they kept asking how to claim their prize! That would tend to get frustrating for you! Especially since you are trying to warn them its a scam!

You're right.  The only people I tend to get really frustrated with here (other than the shills and scam artists) are those that create a whole new forum thread in which they ask how they can claim their prize from the Nokia/Target/Walmart/Best Buy scam.  Even the smallest amount of searching on this site, let alone on the internet at large would tell you that it's a scam.  (Never mind a bit of common sense might give one a clue :-) )

If the caller doesn't know about a scam, it doesn't make him dumb! Chris needs to lighten up!

these guys keep calling and telling me about some prize I "supposedly" won. When I told them i was nor interested they told me to "F*%$ Off" and hung up on me. I'm gonna keep on looking on this page and when someone has an answer I will definitely be interested.
