YEP!  a lot of this going on. It's tapered off some with many arrested recently, but many waiting to try their hand at ripping off the Americans.
Basically speaking, if it's a call from areacode 876 IT'S A SCAM...period!
Be aware that they do use "MagicJacks" to try to make it LOOK like they are in a US areacode, but if it SOUNDS like a ignorant fool from Jamaica..it usually IS one......
The goal here is to WASTE THEIR TIME!!! time is money to them
RECORD THE CALLS!!!  They hate this as it helps build a case against them. Turn the recording over to the feds and also post them on Youtube!
Use some common sense, if it SOUNDS like a dumbass from Jamaica (English is not his first language),they ask for ANY form of payment IT IS A SCAM! The MGM Grand does NOT hire people that sound like they just fell off of a tuna boat!
Notice that they CLAIM to be in YOUR city, but they can't tell you a thing about it? They are right around the corner,ready to deliver that money and car...yeah right....
Here is the deal....if your caller ID shows a 876 areacode and or says JM,Kingston IF you pick up that phone it's "Game on".If you choose to ignore it, it MIGHT go away..
The typical pattern is this, you get a call from them..but they hang up before you get to it.Then they call right back! This used to be a signal to people that it is a family member trying to "Get thru".They seem to think that you might ignore a cold call..but this call you will pick up......
Give them nothing but a hard time! and have fun doing it!

james begay called saying that i won 450,000.00 and a brand new chevy truck and said the reporters are going to be interviewing me soon all he wanting was 450 dollars he said he'd pay off the 200 for me and i just pay 250 not knowing he was a scam thank got i found out

I got a call from this # this morning. The guy told me I have won $285,000 and a 2012 Corolla! Somehow I knew this was a scam. But he kept insisting that this is not a scam. I questioned him with so many questions.
He just called me again and told him to stop calling me! He got angry with me and I hung up on him. What a scam!

Caller, Michael Anderson from UPS claimed that I have won 2.9 million and a brand new Mercedez Ben!
After a long conversation and questions, he ask to send 1% shipping cost to Western Union Money Gram to recieve my packages. I would need to show signature, drivers license, and SS#.

Caller said he was calling from a UPS sweepstakes and claimed that I had won $3.5 million and a brand new Cadillac Escalade!
After lengthy questionaire he got to the point that in order not to get in trouble with the IRS they had to collect $3500 in taxes and fees before they could deliver the check for the $3.5 million. This was to be sent to them via Western Union Money Gram!
