Dude we all know this is a scam as I also have received these calls. The problem with you is that your continued description of those who you assumed are making these calls and the racist undertones. It is amazing that those that are making these calls speak the kings english  (Sound Caucasian) yet you assume they are black because the calls are re routing through  Jamaica. You can pull this same scam by using a calling feature on your computer that shows you calling from California while you are really sitting in Florida. My point is stop being so stupid or at leasy stop showing it with your racist comments.

Jared, this particular colony of foul smelling, woolly headed little Jamaican beasts is one of the oldest (i.e. longest running) still in operation.  What you might be surprised to learn is that over 30,000 calls are placed DAILY from Jamaica to the United States for the purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. In most cases, these foul smelling creatures have only your phone number and will try to extract additional information from you using the ruse of trying to verify your correct name/address so they can deliver the prize package.

More than a year ago, I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from something calling itself "John Baker."  In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these black stained rodents.

It appears (and personally confirmed by me today, when "David Anderson" from Washington called) that these roaches have begun using much more aggressive, threatening tactics. There have been numerous reports (both here and on the local media,) of intended victims being contacted by bogus IRS agents. There have also been a few reports that they are specifically targeting spouses of our deployed servicemen.

Spread the word, these vile creatures need to be stopped. Permanently.

I also received a call from this number yesterday, the only difference is that he claimed to be Micheal Mitchell.  He also said that I had 3.5 Million dollars from mega millions because I had payed my phone bill on time for the past 7 months in a row.  I then replied with, "You have my phone number, and obviously have my phone bill history, therefore, you should be able to tell me my name.  What is my name?"  He then tried to rebuttle explaining some altered way of how his company works but I interrupted him saying, "It does not matter how you operate, you should still have my name!"  He then hung up.

Got a call from the number on my cell phone but did not answer since caller ID showed it was from Jamaica and is from an unknown caller, likely a scam.  Closed cell phone to discontinue the incoming ringing call.

Ironically, it was the first call I received on my new iPhone. I did not answer it. I was suspicious when the origin was Jamaica, since I know absolutely nobody in Jamaica and have no business contacts or anything else there. Checking the other reports confirmed my suspicion that it was indeed a scam.

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:

Received a call from them but didn't answer, if you answer random, unknown phone numbers, they will continue to call because they know you will answer.
