Got called claiming i won $950,000.000 and a brand new 2013 Mercedes Benz. Claimed that it was currently waiting for me to pick it up at the local Enterprise and to sign the check in a box..... Told them i was currently at work and couldn't pick it up, then hung up. 2 minutes later, they called back and claimed they missed a call from me. Obvious scam.. glad it wasn't one of my parents who picked it up.

Guy with a Swedish accent  just called me with the big news I have $950,000.00 and a Mercedes waiting for me. He first said he was with publisher's clearing house and I'd filled out returned the papers sent to me in the mail. I said "what/" to which he replied "You don't remember filling them out?" Then he told me to call Jon Malone immediately at 876-862-4578 ext.#5 . Well I knew it was a scam , told him I would can back,  put the phone number in computer and found these other entries. Well that number called back and the guy just kept saying hello, hello, and every time I'd answer him back with hello .....he finally hung up. Theses scammers are such idiots!

Got a call on my cell around lunch time, guy said I had won 250,000 and a new car. Wanted me to be home in 45 minutes. I told him I was at work until 5, but my husband would be home.  What I didn't say is that my husband is State Police and would love to help this guy go to jail.  Too bad he didn't show up.

I really could not find anything to report it to - one person said the FCC but the form did not say anything about phone scams so I went on the FBI internet crime claim center and submitted a report there - not sure if that was right either but you've got to report it somewhere

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.
http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:

Also:
It is a scam:
http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize ? DON?T!  It?s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it?s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON?T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ?live and in person? by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

I just got a call from 876-862-5640 from some guy with an accent who said he was from UPS and wanted to deliver some kind of Mercedes to me that I won from Publishers Clearing House that had insurance paid for up to one year.  He wanted to know if I was home in NJ.  I said I moved to Arizona (like an idiot) but did not give him any further information.  He said he had to check with a manager to verify if I could take delivery out there.  He gave me the above number to call and to ask for Arthur Johnson, extension 5.  Instead of calling I went to the computer and found this post.  He has now called back 3 times, one restricted, and twice from some other number.  I told him I am reporting him to the FBI and not to call anymore and hung up.  `He has not called again so far.  I think there is some kind `of site `you can report this stuff to the FBI so I will see what I can find and report back.

I got a call from 876-862-4578. Hard to understand, but they were going to pull up in my driveway with a new Mercedes and a certified check for 955,000.00. But I needed to go to the local dollar store to get some kind of card for registration to pay my 1% taxes on this. Which he said was $1555.00. His name was Albert Johnson from the main office of Publishers Clearing House. Wished I hadn't fell for some of this. I called him back and told him (laughing) that if he pulled up in my driveway with a new Mercedes and a $955,000.00 check I would give him a check for $1500.00. HA!!! Then, I told him that it was a scam!!! I wish I could see this scum bag and all his cohorts!!!

So yeah I won a million dollars and a Range Rover... And I didn't even have to enter to win
My number is on the Do Not Call list how did that happen?
And if nothing can be done why do we bother to register our numbers on the Do Not Call list...

I just received a phone call from "Bill Rogers" from the mega millions telling me I just won 2.5 million. Like many of the other stories, he asked if I was going to be home to receive the check. He then proceeded to tell NOBODY about my prize and gave me a secret security code.  This smelled of bad JUJU but I played along. Next he told me to go to western union to send $499.00 to an off shore acct. I obviously knew it was a scam for sure by now but I continue the convo. He gave me a name to send the check to Gayon Martin in West Moreland JA with a phone number. Could that be a link to catching this guy?

I rec'd calls from 1-876-283-8856 twice to day, claiming I need to contact Albert Johnson at 1-876-862-4578 to receive information on my Publishers Clearing House winnings. I said sure and hung up. He called the second time @12:56 (Mt time)
Asking why have I "not contact Mr. Johnson, he has been waiting for your call." I told him I was at work and could not call right now and once again he said call and we hung up. The man has a very heavy accent and I have n't sent anything to PCH since the early 80s.

Guys please be aware of calls such as these wanting to get your information and money.
Good Luck catching him (Them).

Dottie, sadly you will discover that the authorities can not/ will not do anything to solve this problem and that the "Do Not Call List" is useless in trying to combat these black stained rodents from Jamaica. It is up to us to exterminate this vermin. We must continue to be aggressive, offensive and relentless in our tactics!

I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from a "John Baker" (last night's call was from a chigger calling itself, "David Carter.") In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these vile creatures.

When these roaches call again - which they will - please record the call and share your information in this forum. When you post please include your area code - JUST your area code - along with your posting name. Thanks.

Received the same call this morning, but suspected it was a scam. After talking with him, I called the police who instructed me to call Criminal Investigation  who will get something started with me pretty quickly. I suggest you all do the same, however, since this guy's in Jamaica, I doubt there's much that can be done.

Kaz,  getting these vile creatures to stop calling is difficult - but not impossible. You first need to understand that you are dealing with a very, VERY primitive intelligence: think rat vice chimp. Next you will need to get inside their heads, cause while screaming/cursing at them might make you feel better (and believe me I have done that MANY times,) it will almost guarantee they will call again. I recall one porch monkey that called and after I let him run his spiel for a while, as if I was hooked, I told him, "When I hang up this phone I am going to spend the rest of the day lounging by my pool and this evening I will be enjoying a steak dinner with my pretty, blond girl friend. You, on the other hand, will go back to your rat hole where you exist with your fat, ugly wife that smells even worse than you do and your 7 children, that are even dumber than you are!" Now THAT guy never called here again!

When these snakes call again - which they will - please record the call. Every little bit of information we can gain and share in this forum will help our investigation. Thanks.

I just received a similar call from an unknown number.  claiming i had won a publishers clearing house prize of $955,000 and a car to be delivered to my house within the next 45 minutes.  Then wanted me to call Agent Malone at 1-876-862-4578 extension 5.  Told me to call immediately.
Upon calling the number, out of pure curiosity, alot of skepticism but complete hope, the prize details were outlined and was encouraged to go to wal-mart within the 45 minutes before they arrive to purchase an identification card.  At that point, i knew this was a total scam.the only identification card i need in my country is my valid drivers license.
i will take my chances here at my house today and see if my certified check arrives and my 2013 VW car, which is highly unlikely.

Mr. James just called me told me that i won 955,000 and a new car, and did i remember signing up for publishers clearing house, i said no, he then told me to call Mr. Shore and confirm my prize, when i called him, he asked me if i was an American born citizen, told him yes, and he hung up on me. Mr. James called me back and asked me if i contacted Mr. Shore, i said yes and told him what he did, he said he would call him and then call me back, when he called me back, he said Mr. Shore did not hang up on me, I then asked Mr. James what address he was  going to deliver the check and car to, he then hung up on me.  what a joke.  Knew it was a scam from the beginning.
Mr. James number showed up as unknown, Mr. Shores number was 876 862 4578 extension 7.

I have received the same type call from 876-862-4578 on my cell phone. Guy with broken English starts out asking if I remember entering a Publisher's Clearing House contest, then something about he works for UPS. The first time he called, I was suposed to call another number, claim my prize and he would call back. I didn't call the number but he called back and I told him I knew it was a scam. Today I asked when was he going to stop calling me with this scam and he said "when I sent him some money". I hung up on him. This occurs about twice a month....sounds like the same guy, same scam.

Prank Call
As others, just received a call on my cell phone from 1-876 862 4578.  Man with slow and deep voice saying he was from PCH in regards to a certified package he needed to deliver today. He was verifying someone would be home.  Said no would not be home then lost the call.  I called the number back and it goes to a voice male, same voice as on the phone.  I already called my wife to let her know and to get the gun out and handy until I get home . . . just in case someone thinks that no one is home.
