I, too am sick of getting these calls from this number.  I answered this morning and there was no one there, but just the same, I was expecting a call from a company so I answered, otherwise I would not have.  But that "Do Not Call" list does not seem to be working, like some of the rest of you said.  I hope somehow these calls get stopped.

I received a call Monday from 877-208-4082 yesterday.  I didn't answer and checked to see who called.  This is from American Broadband and they have been calling a lot of seniors in our area to get them to switch from their current phone carrier to them.  A 92 year old lady down the street answered and her phone service was changed and when we found out about it we were told that we couldn't do anything about it that she had agreed to this and they were now her carrier.  We called and got her old phone carrier and got her reinstated with them and then called Broadband and got that cancelled.  They said that she would have to pay a early cancellation free of $100.00 and we told them good luck in trying to get it.  She can't hear good and all they asked her was it !!!!!! (her name) and she said yes and they said that was what they had used to get her changed over.  Sheriff's department in our area has been notified of this and we are sending all reports to them.

Call came in at 5:49PM CST.  Caller ID showed "Toll Free Call" and the number.  That's a sure sign of a scam, because all calls to YOU are toll-free unless they are collect.  The Area Code 877 IS "toll-free" so using that as the caller identifier is basically to fool older people into thinking the call is important.

All of these places that are calling are getting the numbers off the NO CALL list that is the only way they are getting the numbers. I have a unpublished,privite,unlisted, number and DO NOT give it out  There calls for people I do not know to collect there bills IS A FEDURAL OFFENCE. When the government gets back to the jobs they get paid to DO, we can all call there number and start fileing LAW SUITS.

Just called here and left no message.  It is almost 7:30 pm here.  I notice other posters say they were called early evening, too.  I no longer answer any numbers I don't recognize...no exceptions!  Until donotcall.gov figures out how to enforce the do not call list I will continue to do the same.

Yep mother got a call from these fools also .they claimed that they had numerous complaints from frontier and started asking her questions on her bill.My mother told the lady that her soon handles all of the phone and  enternet bills and that she could talk to me .Well the lady hung up on her right away. Aparently .they must be searching for easy targets,(American Broadband and Telecommunications)must be in the scams buisness

No, Frontier did not take over Verizion, Verzion sold them 5 million landlines.  Verizion is slowly getting out of the rural business.  Frontier is okay (I am in very rural Indiana), and we have had some troubles but again I am in very rural Indiana - in the middle of 4,500 acres of beans and corn - a two stoplight town.  But I love it.

Got this call today.  No message.  Annoying.

Same thing happened to me only they said it was Frontier that was charging me too much, and that the FCC was investigating this and i was entitled to a refund. When I refused to tell her how much I paid each month she hung up on me.....................5 times!!!!!!!

I keep getting calls from this number. When I look it up it says American Broadband. I dont and havent done business with them and am on the DNC list. Get lost!!!!

In western Washington... 4 rings and call went to answering/voice-mail.  Disconnect.. No message.

I just received a call from them (American Broadband) stating there are a lot of complaints in our area about Frontier...  She offered $10 a month less, free long distance in the US, and 5 option choices....... caller id, *69, etc.  I asked if I had to make a decision right now or if I could call back.  She was very polite the entire time, and said that I could call back.  Now I don't know WHAT to do..LOL

This company called our business line again today. This caller was a male, he tried to sale us a credit card merchant account. We have told this company we have a merchant account and are very happy. Plus who would take a cold call and do business not us.

Yes, we are on the do not call list, we have been for years. When we tell callers they respond that we are a business why would we be on the list. THIS IS THE REASON WHY! Yes, we report the calls every time. As for our business we answer calls from customers not scammers. Our company is located in Northern California. Verizon is available never heard of Frontier. The replies above do not mention Merchant accounts.

(Googled) 877-208-4826 the company calling is called American Broadband and Telecommunications there is no a physical address listed just the pain in the a** number 877-208-4826.

The other company I see listed above American Broadband Communications, LLC out of N.C.  Does not go to the 877-208-4826.

I got a call from this number and the guy I talked to said he was with American Broadband. The caller was polite, not pushy, and gave me additional information about the company. I was still suspicious though, so I told him I would call back. I then called Frontier and they confirmed that American Broadband is a legitimate company that operates in the Toledo, OH area. As far as I can tell this company can really save you money BUT make sure you know what your early termination fee is with Frontier/Verizon. In my case the fee outweighed the potential savings, so I called AB back and told them I was going to decline their offer. The seller thanked me for my time and did not attempt to push the service any further.

Recieved a call from this number, and there was a pause.  I fugured it was a telemarketer, I said "Hello?" twice, and a computer voice said "Good by".

Thanks for posting the contact info - that was very helpful when American Broadband is so generic.  Now off to complain at donotcall.gov and the BBB!

I am SO tired of these people calling!  They call about once a week and we always tell them we are on the do-not-call list and to stop calling.  Today when they called I was in the middle of telling her I was going to report her for violating a do-not-call request and she hung up on me!  We don't have caller ID so it's either screen all calls or put up with their BS.  We also get many "no one there" or only music playing calls - I never dreamed it might be them.

I was out of town.They didn't leave a messsage. I've got no clue to who this company is. I called back and left a message that I was on the National Do Not Call List and if they called back  I would report them and they could deal with the up to ten thousand dollar fine.

They called my 'office' line and answered with my company name. The woman asked it is was a business number so I told her yes and she apologized and said she wasn't meant to call businesses. Which leads me to think that I shall answer all unknown calls as a business and hopefully get removed from a few listings.

This is a junk, scam, phishing number--stay away from them!

My husband received the call and when he answered all he got was 'goodby'. So, he called the number back and was told they could save him on phone bills. He didn't get the name of the company but he sure cussed them out and told them not to call back. We'll see.

My mother also received a call from this number with the message "you are going to die!".  After doing some checking, I found the American Broadband corporate office phone number.  They are located in Matthews, North Carolina and the number is 704-845-2263.  I suggest everyone with a complaint call this number.  I don't think a legitimate business would appreciate being represented by fools who make death threats or having potential customers harassed by nonsensical calls.

This is a phishing number to scam you into changing compnys. but a better laugh is the spot ad on this page that says"type in any number and find out who owns it"[phone.peoplesmart.com]--seems they cannot find 877-208-4082? what a joke!
