I received these calls daily for about a week. Advised by this web page, I called Verizon directly (their web listed number) to verify that I had already opted out of receiving phone solicitations from their company. (Obviously if there was something important to discuss, such as account balance or security, they are entitled to call).
That operator confirmed that I was, in fact, opted out of any/all solicitations by Verizon. That operator had no knowledge of a marketing campaign to upgrade my wireless card to 4G, so...
I then called the soliciting number. By providing my wireless number (only), they were able to verify who I was and my account type. They also verified the Verizon customer service number and appropriate extensions. (I am reasonably convinced this is the real mccoy).
I explained that I was not suppose to receive these calls (opted out again for what that was worth), and expressed my disgust that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I further expressed my dismay that no messages were left (she explained it was a shortcoming of the automated phone dialer.)
By all means, call Verizon and let them know they are disrespectful of your time. No one will care but at least the calls will stop ... for now ...

Got several calls from these people, one time I answered and a man told me he represented Sam's wholesale Club and that they promoted some credit cards? Now he wanted to know my pin number. These people are thefts do not give them any information. Do ask them for a telephone number so you can call them back. That?s impossible. If you get a phone number please post it here.

Been receiving phone calls from this number. They never leave a message so today I decided to call it back because I knew my bill was paid in full. They were wanting to upgrade my modem to a 4G.

This number 877-208-4825 belongs to Verizon Wireless Sales. They are allowed to call even if you are on DNC list if you have an account with them, the DNC rule does not apply. You can opt out by going to their website and following instructions to "opt out" of receiving any promotional calls or offers. You can do this with pretty much all the companies you do business with when you don't them to bug you about upgrading your account.
Flip side though is I have had occasion where Verizon Wireless called re a sales promotion, and that caused me to think of some questions and bottom line was I was able to make some changes and actually reduce my bill.

company is getting ready to upgrade to 4G's which would require another $$$ modem. Tell them not to call, since the "conversation is being recorded", and see what happens. If you turn around and call 800 922 0204, customer service, they can help.

This is Verizon Wireless calling about upgrading my acct I did not feel comfortable since the guy told me I could only do this with him & not at my local Verizon store. The number would show up & no one would leave a voice mail so finally I decided to call them.

First man told me he was with Verizon wireless. Then I asked him was this Verizon Wireless and he said no they were hired by Verizon wireless. I just said thank you and hung up the phone. I blocked the number. I can't understand why the "do not call" does not block these calls.

1 more thang: don't answer the unknown number-- if its important, they will or should call back
| robert 2011-03-27 16:17:30 Unknown |
no, its a telemarketer that is scamming saying they're verizon wireless, otherwise they are federally regulated (as verizon wireless is) to leave a message-- someone is using numbers to pose as an opposite or competitive market. just look at the ads... what ads up? maybe thats why i switched insurance... i may have done so without considering why someone from their company was calling from all hours... could it have been from my old insurance company??? or someone else's insurance company.... concerned citizens unite.
