This supposed company claims to be a magazine subscription service. They did not provide me with their company name when I spoke with them. They claim that I signed up for a subscription (completely false) and the "supervisor" argued with me for several minutes. They somehow obtained my credit card information. I notified my credit card agency of the situation. They claimed they would cancel my subscription, but refused to give me any confirmation. At one point, the supervisor said that I could call him directly to ensure cancellation, but when I asked him for his name and direct extension, he refused to give it to me, saying that I had to call the customer service number. No one ever answers the customer service number, by the way, though callers can leave a message. That number is (877) 211-1289.
When I did some research, another online posting claimed that this company was identifying itself as United Readers Service. I contacted United Readers Service (looked up their customer service #), and they were very helpful people. My guess is that United Readers Service is an actual, reputable company and that these people are perhaps "posing" as them.
I plan to report the incident to the Better Business Bureau - I tried looking up the company on the BBB website via the phone number, but could not find any information. When I was contacted by the company, the phone number came up with a 239 area code, which is a Florida exchange.

Yes, I received a call as well and cannot verify that this is an actual company. Somehow they obtained my credit card information. The phone # is a message center only, and no company name is stated on the voicemail recording either.
