Butterfly... apparently they are asking people for the last 4 numbers of their social security number. That, along with your birthday and name is the start of someone taking over your identity and bankrupting you.  Most scams are companies that do exactly what this one is.

Everyone on here is saying this is a debt collection agency??  The message had some incoherent male telling me that I needed to call him, call him, call him, call him, call him, call him... at least 20 times that was repeated in the message and then said something about being in my neighborhood tomorrow. CREEPY! Well, if he is then my dog will have a nice surprise for him. I pay cash, so I know I don't owe anyone and I've never dealt with IBC.

I checked out the website someone offered for the company and it's very amateurish and lacking a lot of information.  The only link that actually worked when I went was their career section and it was good for a laugh.  Copied and pasted... had to leave the spelling issues and grammar as it was.

How can we make this stop?

The weird thing is, I don't owe anyone any money, and I've never done business with IBC.  The one or 2 times I've answered, there's been no one on the phone.  What gives?

I replied that he sounded a lot like John and they put me back on mute and John came back. I know I owe money and I will pay, but not to sheisty practices.

They also have a local number of (210) 547-3298 and it shows as O'Connor & Hall on the caller id.  If you do owe money to IBC then send these people a cease and desist letter and then contact IBC and only deal with the original company you owe the debt to.  Make arrangements with them to pay it off.

SDH Spears, Dewitt, and Hall... more like Spears, DIMWITT  and Hall.  I doubt the boiler room is actually in Texas.  The "John" I spoke with was definitely of the East coast thug mentality and speech. Whomever had this number before me left a wake of bottom feeding debt collectors that have been menacing my business phone.  What the fail to understand is I have corporate attorney that will bite them in the back side if they don't get me off their list.

They are a collection agency in San Antonio, they don't have another US office in any other state. If they keep calling you take the time to find out who they are calling for, say you don't know that person and are not that person and remove your number. If you just hang up or cuss at them, then they will just keep calling assuming you are the person they are trying to reach.

Yes, the debt is likely legit.  They collect for IBC bank.  If you don't want them to call you, then send them a cease and desist letter.  Or sue them for calling you from Mobay Jamaica without a bond to collect in Texas or a license if you live in a state that requires one.

I just received a call from this number. It was a recording asking to speak to a (forgot the name). I called it back immediately and the person who answered knew my first name. He asked if I know Sammy Harley,
when I said no he said it was a wrong number. WTF?? He then got very rude, saying "What's the matter, never had a wrong number before?" I pressed him what company he worked for and he said "SG&H" Didn't find anything on the web about that. Anyone had anything like this from this number?
