Received a call to my in-law's house from a "James" asking if they knew me.  Left no additional details other than a return number 877.215.2635.  When calling back received recorded message that it was the EOCCA and I had called after hours.  Suspicious from all of the online reporting regarding this agency.  Also, to my knowledge I have never used my in-laws # for anything and never lived in their house.  Very strange.

Whoever this is that calls is a recorded message.  Today it was a different voice.  She states that this message is for (inserted name from another voice) Andrew Laudenbach and if you are not (inserted Andrew Laudenbach from another voice) please hang up.  If you are not Andrew Laudenbach call this number to have your name removed from this list.  If you continue to listen to this message then you are agreeing that you are Andrew Laudenbach.
They keep my answering machine blinking every day with this long message and I would like for them to quit calling.  I am on the , do not call list now, so hope this helps with this annoying message.
Thanks
Andrew Laudenbach

Received message from George.  Said he was looking for --------.  ------- gave him our number as a reference # but it was very important that they reached ---------.  Just so happens that this is my mom they are looking for.  If she gave them my # as a reference then why are they looking for her.  Dont like it.  She's in her 70's and worried that someones out to get her.   George did not leave the company name or what it refered to.  Mom never talked to anyone before.

Tom (Jan 24), good for you, and thanks, for including the FCC's complaints link!!
Two-part question for you and everyone else getting these calls/messages: (a) Is the ph number they're calling a relatively NEW one for you? Because I'm getting the calls on a cell # I've had for only a year. (b) Is your ph company Verizon (as mine is)? If SO, maybe some bad employee at Verizon is somehow selling access to our numbers, and if so we should all contact Verizon to notify them!  If NOT . . . I have to believe what's going on is one of two things--either it's some form of ID theft, achieved if you dial the 877 number (sort of phishing-by-phone), or it's a legit collection agency contacting us because our ph numbers have somehow (via Verizon or otherwise) already been glommed on to ("borrowed") by an ID thief (as is the case when you haven't misplaced your credit card, for example, yet someone uses your acct # to purchase, e.g., round-trip tickets to Bangkok). I offer the latter explanation because I've also, in the past month or so, been getting messages about payments due to a nonexistent account at Virgin Mobile. ANYWAY...until I read somewhere that there's more to be done than complaining about it to the FCC, I guess all we can do is ignore the messages (and screen all calls) and hope they taper off.

Same message with different name.  Searching the internet reveals this to be a widespread problem.  Unless reported to the FCC this will continue.   Here's a direct link the FCC's complaint site where your feelings about these calls should be sent.  http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

These people called my brother in law and the guy said his name was James and that he needed the were abouts of me and that it was a very urgent matter.  Who are these people?  I am debt free so I know I don't owe any money to anyone.  This must be a scam.

Unfortunately, the FDCPA
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf does not require debt collectors to tell you their company name but you have to ask for it - see section 804 on page 5.

I received a call this morning on my cell phone. The guy left a message saying he was George and that he got my number from my husband as a reference and they are trying to find out my husband's location and was wanting me to call them back to help us locate him...   HUH?  I'm sure it's some type of bill collector or something. Not calling them back because I don't appreciate people calling without identifying themselves completely with the company name.

I have no clue as to who these people are but they are very disrespectful with their lies! I came home today very tired and my landlady calls me up to tell me that these people called her (she gave me the name of the company and their number). The caller was someone named Corey. She said that he said that I gave him her name and number to call. Something that I never do. I don't give out people's number without asking first. I hope that everyone is mindful not to give out identifying information about themselves to these types of calls. I believe that they are fishing for people's information. Identity theft folks, be careful!

They call here on a regular basis for someone named Allen Leibermix , claiming they are collection agency EOSCCA referencing account number 3103262.

If you call back it rings forever.

Their website is http://www.eos-cca.com/

I recieve recorded messages from something called "800 Service", phone number 877-215-2635 at least 2-3 times a week.  Just recieved one minutes ago.  The recording says, "This is a call for."..and a pre-recorded name is inserted.  "If you are not,,," recorded name is repeated..."please hang up and call 877-215-2635".  I've recieved this call for 2, maybe 3 different names.  Obviously, this is a collection agency for something.  I've tried calling the # back, talked to a real person, told them I'm not the person they're trying to contact and have never heard of this person and asked them to please take my # out of their data banks.  This has been to no avail.  Still get many, many calls.  Does anyone know who to report this to and/or how to stop them?
