It is called the statute of limitations on debt.  Learn how to stop debt "re-aging", which is when your debt is sold repeatedly to other companies.  Go to FTC.gov and you can find all the info you need.  Takard Group calls and states "at least you could have the decency to call us back".  This happen twice, so I did call them back.  I did call them back, when I asked her name and the company that she represented, she became very rude.  Then I told her to never, ever call this number again.They were looking for someone I have never heard of.  Statutes of limitations vary from state to state, but you can find out what applies to your state at this website.  To instantly stop re-aging calls, request a validation of debt.  Tell them to stop calling.  Apparently, this is the magic phrase "validation of debt",  Of course this only works when you debt has met the statutes or they are calling the wrong person.  All this info, and more, is available at FTC.gov.  You can also register for the National Do Not Call List.  If you have registered before, moved, and changed phone numbers, do it again.  There is also a link on their site for the only actually free annual credit report.  If you contact free credit report, or any similar companies, they will will will rope you into all kinds of stuff that you have to pay for.  They tell you that you can cancel within 30 days and not be charged, however they will not mention that they have enrolled you in several costly programs, the names only revealed when you get the charge on your bank statement.  Stay far away from these companies.  It is a mess to clear up.  Trust me.  You can also file a formal complaint against a debt collection agency at this site.  If you have been denied credit you can get an additional credit report at no charge but you have to send the denial for credit to all three major credit reporting agencies.  Please visit FTC.gov and find out what kinds of free help you can get, and find out what your rights are.

of course they are not going to ask for personal information if you are sending them your money. I think this is a bogus company and you are giving away your money!!!!!!!!!! Too bad for you!

i received calls to my magicjack voicemail from 'the takard group'.  no explaination, just "you need to call this number back asap." When I called to let them know they had an incorrect number in their files, the woman I spoke to would not listen to what I was trying to tell her (that they had the wrong number).  She was SO incredibly rude that I told her that I wanted to speak to someone else.  She said "It doesnt matter at all what YOU want.  I dont care one bit about what YOU want!"  I could go on and on, but I won't.  After she HUNG UP ON ME, I called the number again figuring that another rep would answer.  I don't think I've complained more than 3 times about how I've been treated by employees but this one made me so steamed that I had to!

The Statute of limitations does not mean they can't collect after 7 years.... In the USA the fair debt collection act states they can collect on it for 100 years if they want. However after 7 years they have to stop reporting on your credit report

I totally forgot about a debt that I had a few years ago.  A lady named Gillian called me from this number to collect it.  She is THE NICEST person I have ever spoken to on the phone.  She doesn't hassle me, in fact, because she is so great to talk to, I call her once a month to pay the bill (unless I forget).  She really looks out for me, and she never asks me for personal information about where I'm working and how much I'm making like the other RUDE companies.  When I call, she knows who I am!  We catch up on the month before while she processes my payment.  

Since I have started making regular payments, my credit score went up 30 pts in the last 2-3 months!  If you have a debt, and someone calls you from this number ask for Gillian.  Her extension is 609.  Tell her Michelle the tennis player sent you!

I just got a call from the phone number.  If they are not authorized to collect in CAlifornia, that's a violation of the FDCPA & they can be sued for harrassment.

I keep getting calls on my cell phone frm this company arounf 8 in the vening. I'm told to call this number (877-277-3390) during normal business hours. I'm searched and it's a Canadian/Indian collection agency. I've had this number for over 3 years, but I still get calls for the guy who had it before. They are all from collection agencies. Takard Group is a real pain in the a**.

A lady by the name of Melissa Kirby has been calling and leaving messages on my cell phone from this Takar Group of Companies or whatever it is called. She keeps saying that she is being asked to make a response on my behalf.....Funny thing is she never says what it is about and when I try to call her extension #234 all I get is voicemail. This is apparently not the only phone number that they have cause if you google Takar Group Of Companies there is another number that shows up also and people on there are saying that it is a scam to try and get people to clear up their BOGUS past due credit obligation(s).

if you tell them to stop calling you-they have to...it is a company that purchased an old block of business from reputable companies, and paid for the lists.  Now they are trying to collect on them and some people don't know any better, but if it is over 7 years old, you are not obligated to pay it...there is a technical word for it, but i can't remember it right now...hope this helps!!

left a message late saturday afternoon told to return the call to 1-877-227-3390 or 1-800-431-4061 when you call it it cuts off with a operator message that makes no sense.  We don't owe anyone and have no credit cards. the male caller kept on repeating it is regards to a important business matter and will need a return call and serious matter and repairable and input??????? same senaro with them calling for the wrong number and harassing me. I called Fedral trade commission who said that they are looking into it and would be have it investigated. i told them of the complaints i seen online, and told them they could check it out themselfs. I also called the better business burero but not luck n talking to someone so i filed a complaint online. they are very rude, demanding, and persistant and dont give a care. They calling my cell phone and leaving harassin messages. will they do anyting about this company i dont know but if you go to the BBB site and look em up you will find this company. they have a rating of F and it shows how many complaints and what they were for, it also shows how many cases have been solved. I also called the sec state of NY and they tell me that its not listed and they dont know or heard that comapany. On the Takhar group website they have no address or etc.. So, on BBB it shows that there is 3 addresss for this company. Niagara falls NY, Cambridge ON and Rochester NY. it also says about complaints  5 no response, 151 resolved 28 unresoved. BBB says they dont have clear understanding of this business, 32 serious complaints,28 were unresolved, 184 complants filed against business. They tell me they are not involved in any of the companys phone calls or transactions. they have a rating of an F becouse of the complants.

Hope this helps. Keep filing complaints with the fedreal trade commission and BBB and file with the state of New York. Look the numbers on the net. call and complain. i guess we gonna have to keep it up until somehing is done.
Also the fedral trade commison told me that i need to write the company a letter telling them to stop. then call the federal trade commsion and tell them. Then if it continues to call Fedral trade commsion. also you can go to www.donotcall.gov and get on the do not call list. me? i doing all above, and also gonna change my number.

They also took 53.04 out of my moms checking account.

    I got this information  from calling back and asking for a supervisor.  They claim they are
a member of the BBB in New York.
     I am writing a formal complain agains the person who called,  I'm also lodging a complain with
the BBB.............   There has to be some place else to report this type of phone calls to........
    I urge everyone even if the call is for you,  to lodge a complaint -  The tactics of this company
are horrid.

I got a call today from someone connected to this agency and wow I thought he was trying to sell me 7/eleven. He would not tell me any info cause I pretended to be someone related to me, however when I returned the call at a later time I got nothing but an answering machine, I left a message stating I would call them back at the same time and if they wanted to talk to me then they needed to have someone to answer the phone or else I would consider this company to be fake.  Funny thing is, the guy ststed his name was Howard Ball., I knew that was fake.

Unwanted calls at any time from this group, they just say its an Urgent Call and urgent matter to call back to this number 866-408-8299; by reading this site looks like a scam with some collection agency.

I have been getting calls from TAKHAR  collection agency trying to say that I ordered books from the Doubleday book club and want me to pay them $88.18.  I didn't even order books from Doubleday. And never received books from them either.
