I made the mistake of giving them my card # to my debit card.  I am so upset now about reading all this information.  i have one more payment set up...a large sum.  Mr. St. Clair said all the right things...he knew my birthdate and ss#...

I had received a message from a Jonathon Harper on my cell phone stating that I was to appear in court on Monday, March 4th and that he would be collecting a signature from me.  He left a number to call with a reference #...

Crosspoint Associates answered the line.  Andrew said I had a debt from 2010....that if we did not reach resolution there would be civil litigation.

I had found myself out of job for over 2 years...when unemployment became part of my life, I closed my bank accounts to save any cash I had...I was trying to survive and keep my apt and my kids fed.  I have been resolving all debt and when this popped up today...I just assumed something else came out of the woodwork that I needed to take care of...  I feel like such a fool.

They said they would email me letters...summarizing the payment arrangement...they had my email, address, cell number....everything.  I am watching my email to see if I actually receive this documentation.  My card has already been debited my first large payment.  Do I cancel my card and not make the second large payment?   I do not want to end up in court for a civil case.

I wish everyone knew about this website. I just happend to fall upon it luckily one day which helped me out greatly.  I too had calls from a restricted number first. Voicemail left from a rebecca gomez with letters of intent needing my signature on a specific day and time and needed to talk to 888-428-0525 or 888-506-7255 which is by the way the new numbers that have contacted me from cross point and associates. So i did contact them and tried to make it right. Mr. Gavin Mcklain who has done his homework knew all the lawyer lingo and wanted me to send $205.38 to make my jurisdiction cease and desiss. I told him i'd try to find it .I couldn't  so i called back and he said money is muscle sir and asked if i had anything to show the computer i was commited client 20 bucks 10 bucks. so i made my first, not knowing at the time, mistake and gave them my card number and okayed the ten bucks. and set up multiple payments which would have resulted in about $2600.00. AND THIS MR. GAVIN MCKAIN IS HOW I HAVE MUSCLE B***H!!!  But i had this feeling that something wasn't right so i googled cross point associates and 800 notes came up down the way so i read what you people had to say about them. I knew from there i had call.  I first called my local credit counseling company and asked about crosspoint associates. they said they didnt have that information but, The Division of Consumer Consumer Protection 1-800-300-1986, would. And they did.

1. Every company is rated by the BBB.  Every company is rated like in elementary school. A being good  and F well you know.    Guess what? our friends at cross point and associates are receiving, well folks its an F. They have 22 BBB complaints against them. 13 which havent been responded to and 6 of which are serious complaints.  My complaint agaisnt them is that they faslely say they are going to serve you papers when they dont intend to do so. Which is against the law.   The only way you are ever served papers is by a sheriff and they do not call unlike mrs. gomer. or they will send you out a letter 3 days prior to any action that might be taken. this is the law.

2. If you were suckered into giving them any information like i was, first cancel any card that you might have used. If a social security card number might have slipped out contact one of the three credit bureau's and put a fraud alert on your credit bureau.  Equifax 1-800-525-6285   Experian  1-888-397-3742  TransUnion 1-800-680-7289.  once you contact one they will contact the other two for you. They will notify you of any activity on your credit by phone.  If you have been a victim Put a credit freeze on your bureau and stop it while you can. There may be a fee. some states vary. contact your local states attorney generals office for this.

To wrap it up just be informed. I know i am now and you should be too. just go to the BBB website to see if you should be even talking to a company. and you can always file a complaint at the BBB  or the FTC on a company. enough complaints and they will we gone. about ready to file number 23 for crosspoint associates see you later you will not be around much longer !!@#$%%$%^*&^(*&(*&)(*_)(_)(_)*(_)(_)(_))(*(UY&^%$#$#@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got same phone calls telling me they were going to serve me papers .. they called on a friday and woman was using the name Mrs. Scott they also called my family members.. that is so wrong!  I had already read all the complaints about them on here so i knew they were not comming.  They buy these payday loans at pennys on the dollar and they use this bs tactic to try to get u to call them and pay .  if they only get 1 and ten people to pay they are making a good living.. do not pay atten to there calls DO NOT CALL THEM BACK.  they will not show up to your house or your work place. They did not show up to mine nor have i heard back from them snice..  Funny thing is they said they were going to show up between 10 and 2.. they called me that day and said they were still showing up between 10 and 2 and it was allready 1 pm LOL .. they should at least do the follow scam call earlier then time they say there going to be here LOL.. Even if they were going to follow thru and there NOT. I would fight these guys tooth and nail.. I have all there threating messages saved as wave files on my puter.. there is no way there tactics are legal!

Bradley James attempted to call me again. I kept picking up and hanging up. Not sure how he got my voicemail. He told me I better make myself available from the hours of 10am and 2pm. Uh oh! I'm so scared. Bring it on. He doesn't scare me. Meet me in front of the police station. Funny how this Bradley James guy calls people in Texas too. That's not even close to the state I live in. Bring it on, tough guy!

So that would make sense. 4 years to sue you. They state it's from 2008 and it's 2012. Makes perfect sense. These people are something else. I wonder if we could do a class action law suit. Take these jerks out!

I have recieved the same calls. A Linda Harris has called and left messages with detail from an unknown number threaten to serve me. She also called and left a detailed message on my husbands phone about me. Both of these are against the law. They cannot call from an unknown number and they cannot leave messages in great detail. I have filed a complaint with the ag. She also said she would try to serve me once and if I was not there, she would state I refused to sign. She never showed up. They have 4 years to sue you from  the last date of payment. They try to scare you.

I was called by this company, but I left them speak to my voice mail so that I have it recorded. I have never borrowed money on any type of short term loan, so I know that this collection call is fraud. The same type of companies can get your bank account information and withdraw small amounts of money that may not be noticeable at first. If you do not dispute the ACH with your bank larger amounts will then be withdrawn.  Be careful.

This is pretty interesting. I'm a pretty young guy with student loan debt so this message (the same ones you guys have been getting) sent me into a full blown panic attack but from reading the messages from this group I've been able to relax a bit. I checked out their site and its slapped together and basic. It in no way looks professional to me. no mention of BBB or any other official licensing or representation and they specialize in bad checks. I Don't even have a check book. I never answer calls from unknown numbers so they can keep leaving me threatening messages because they're all saved.

Thanks everyone here for helping shed some light on the company and representation. for those who say they plan on suing them, please post progress if you make any. Would love to know more about this place.

And for anyone wishing to call me thieving scum, you should be aware that I have never written a check for anything in my life, nor have I taken out a loan apart from my subsidized student loan to which I pay on time, every month.

I also got a call from these clowns and recorded all conversations. No letter was sent. No mini miranda was given. I was told by Mr. Gibson(fake name obviously) that I had pending litigation against me. Today I talked to Ella who told me her computers were locked because I was getting ready to be sued. Well which is it? She told me they were not a collection agency and I said you collect on debts right so that makes you a collection agency and she said technically yes but they still were not. They just do consumers a favor by keep debts out of court. HAHAHAHAHA seriously. Anyway I have 14 years voluntter work with a specialty in the fdcpa, fcra, and fccpa and this has already been given over to my attorney. Not only will I sue their company but I will see the collectors personally. I am not the person you want to deal with on this stuff. If they refuse to pay up I will simply send in a sheriff to take all their equipment and anything else they have. I have done it before and will do it again.

I received a call from these clowns a few weeks ago saying they were a "process" server threatening to serve me with a "certified" notice of intent. When the lady gave me the # to the "claimaints" office, I spoke with a John who was extremely rude..he tried telling me they were a litigation firm and they were suing me for over $2000 when it was a $300 loan I had taken out.My brother-in-law is an attorney and when I told him he said I have legal grounds to sue them for violating the FDCPA.They had called my relatives and left personal info on their answering machine which is a direct violation, and makes me extremely angry.

I did some digging and they are Crosspoint Associates, a debt collection agency located in Buffalo , NY. They are NOT BBB accredited, It seems they have been doing this for months now. I contacted my local sheriff along with e-mailing and calling our state attorney general.

I just got a call from this number. I am not going to return the call. They did not ask for anyone nor leave a name. It was a message from CrossPoint Associates saying something about some legal claim and they left a claim number for me to reference. The message made it sound as if I'm being sued and this is my official notice. It's all BS!!! I've been sued. I know how it works! It's the latest scam. People pretending to be lawyers suing you and innocent people hand them all the info they need to steel their identity. I don't even want to answer the phone anymore. Soon they be able to suck the information out of your brain without you even speaking. I'm moving to Mars!

I have been receiving threatening calls from Cross Point Associates with a file #, I have been told I was being served papers at work and home and if I was not there that they would file a lawsuit against me saying I refused to sign.  I was told I would be taken to court.  When I did call back I spoke with a guy named John and he told me I needed to go out and purchase a debit card so I could make payments on a loan from 2007.  I told him I was on social security and could not pay or get a card until a later time at which he said I had to had to go out today and get the card.  I told him he was not attempting to work with me. I told him I have never received any letters from this company trying to collect only this phone call telling me I was being taken to court.  When I told him I was recording our conversation he hung up on me.  I am reporting this company and all their phone #'s to the Federal Trade Commission to let them know how they are harrassing people at work and home.

Well we are waiting for her and the local authorities have been called. Cross point assoc. is not bbb accredited and on their website there is no number for you to call that is so they can change it they are now using the # 877-228-8549. This is a big scam if they cant find the person they are looking for the continue to harrass the wrong people, And for those of you that think im a bum who does not pay my bills i have no debit and do not plan on getting any and if i need a loan i will go to a bank and get one in person not on line.

I got a call today from a courier supposedly that had papers to serve me and that he would be there to serve them this week. He called from a withheld number. He also told me he couldnt see anything to do with the papers but gave me a case #. If he cant see the papers and is just a courier how did he know the case number on my papers? He gave me a number to call as well but didnt get anyone???? I work in the law system and gave all the info I could get to one the best lawyers in my town to investigate this company and informed the sheriff dept of what s going on and what I was told on the phone. This supposed courier is probably not gonna like the situation he gets into if he bothers to show at my job. Has anyone ever actually gotten the papers that they say they are serving?
