Stated they are calling from a University to update student records

Stated her name was Julie from Botpros (spelling?) and wanted to speak to our software development manager (we're a software company).

Name was Alex.  Says he works for Tom Lendo at Gottesman -- a company that assists companies with consolidations and acquisitions, and mergers.

An Indian sounding young lady with an accent named "Jenny" wanted personnel or HR. Inviting them to some kind of webinar. Added to the blocked numbers list.

Rec'd a call from 877-229-0241 and a person called Anna left a msg on July 9, 2010.  I call her back and some guy says that Anna left.  I told the guy that I was not aware of this telephone number and which company am I talking to.  He says he doesn't who !!  I say how can you work for and answer a phone from this company and you do not know who the company is?  He pauses several seconds, then says he works for an answering service.  Fine, I say.  The phone rings on an account, who owns the account ( company name )?  He does not know.  Told him to have a good day and hung up.  I tried to run a search of this number and, of course, get no definitive answer.  WARNING:  If somebody calls you from this number, my advice give them absolutely no information whatsoever.

calling about company cards? I assume credit cards.
