I got a call from this number and this guy also called my OLD father that lives in another State and told him that I wrote a bunch of bad checks and that there was a lawsuit filed against me; however, I haven't had a checking account in YEARS!!!!  So, it's gotta be a collection agency and this is how they get you to call them back.  Also, you can't block numbers to collection agencies.  So, if you call them from a different number, they will register that as your number as well.

I did not even pay attention to this kind of message, I also received the same message as posted here. Just forget it if once or ask the wireless carrier to block if you are getting this message many times.

Has anyone actually done what they want? I'd never be willing to risk it, but now I'm curious. I got a text saying "Thank you for visiting our website. Call 877-232-5147 to claim your FREE $50 gift card." It seems that, at best, these guys are irritating and unprofessional. At worst, they're going to steal $$ from you. Has anyone actually tried their "gift cards?"

As others have suggested go to the above websites and file a complaint with the FCC and the FTC. If they get enough complaints they will act on them.

I have found the FTC really hates this junk and they do a good job of shutting these jerks down.

I just called them from a different number than the one they texted and had quite a great time with them. I had them transferring me all over the place! Hang up, ask them stupid questions, make up stupid names and scenarios, have them explain themselves over and over, ask where I can send a check, pay with paypal, go to their website, etc. If you have some time - I highly recommend it! Great venting exercise. I also made the complaint with FCC.

Great advice!!!  I just received a scam text message.  I will most certainly conduct the venting exercise.  Let's get these idiots back by playing their own game.

Has anyone received a phone call from a blocked number? I was just called yesterday prior to receiving that text today.

Got a message said Thanks for visiting our Website Call 877-232-5147 to claim your free $50.00 gift card.   I am not calling any number and I will report this to the FCC.

This number called me and told me that I had won a $50 Wal-Mart card and all I had to do was give them my credit card number and they would process the $3 shipping and handling fee.  When I asked what company this was and how they received my information they disconnected the call.

Never signed up for text marketing.

Geez, they only offered me a $20 Wal Mart gift certificate.  What a gyp!  Actually I will report this to the fcc site listed previously.  Thanks for the info.

Well, misery loves company.

Got a message saying thank you for visiting our site and to claim my price of $140.00 gift voucher to call this number.   I called the number to see who it was.  I had to ask several times what the name of the company was and I was told it was called  "Home Rewards".  I told them that I did not visit their site and was not interested.   They did not have much to say and they hung up.

I called the number also to find out who it was cause i received the same exact message you did but I never got a live person i got a recording saying that if i wished to opt out it gave me directions but also said the mailbox was full so i would have to call back to claim my 140 dollar gift voucher yeah right like im gonna do that

I got text message just like everyone else above.  I called the number back got a guy that I had a really hard time understanding and he just starting talking about the vouchers.  I finally got him to stop talking and listen to my question, I asked him who he got my number from and he stated that they got it from some global marketing thing from me using one my credit cards and a store.  I asked him what store and he told me that he could not give out that information.  I told him to stop calling or sending text messages b/c I knew it was a scam and he hung up on me before I could finish.  

I also tried asking for his name and he told me that he could not and did not want to give out his information.

I replied "stop" to the first text message. Big mistake. I've gotten two since, three calls from "Unavailable Number" that got disconnected, and two more where I was forced to convince someone I couldn't understand that I didn't want any vouchers and wanted to be taken off the list. File a compliant at the above URL.Good luck!
