From "ibosum@messaging.netxtel.com". Cheap sounding computer system asking you to enter your credit card number to reactivate. Idiots.
| Jocelyn 2011-06-06 21:04:03 Unknown |
Yeah i didn't get a text but i did get a call. my phone said it was a forwarded call from 1402, i didn't know what it was so i answered. and it was a cheap automated voice saying my pre-paid card was deactivated and would i like to reactivate it. I dont have a pre-paid card and i was kinda freaked out cuz i was getting paranoid that someone made a card in my name.....but it never said anything about talking to a real person. so i hung up and searched it. thank you for the heads up.

So you know, ALL JP Morgan/Chase debit cards that are linked to various state unemployment departments start with 511182 so they are just phishing for anyone who is receiving unemployment benefits using a debit card. All they ask for is the card#, Exp date, and PIN.
People think that it's legit because they don't ask for social security#'s or mother maiden name. Then they buy things on the net using the card and PIN and clean out the balance. Real upstanding scumbags stealing from people on unemployment.........go figure
JPM/Chase knows about this and has had to reissue many new cards for people.

I received same email but not once, twice within one minute of each other. The laugh is I don't have a JP Morgan debit card. They state that the Rhode Island Department of Labor has deactivated my JP Morgan Debit Card. Why the heck would they deactivate this card even if I did have one. I hope no one is crazy enough to give out the information if they do have one.

Just got it too. Checked JP Morgan Chase website. I do not have a card that starts with "5111" - moreover, Chase only lists last four digits. Scam. Avoid.
