I use anonymous call rejection with my caller ID, but I got this call anyway. I called this number back and it turned out to be Verizon marketing. They said they were calling to see if I was satisfied with my phone service (with them). Their whole tone changes dramatically when you call _them_, as opposed to when one of their telemarketers calls _you_. He asked for my name and number, which I gave him since I figured they had it anyway. He then asked for my address, and when I asked him why, he said it was optional and I told him I didn't want to give him that. I told them if there was any problem with my phone service I'd call _them_, so there was no need for them to call me. They said they could add me to Verizon's do-not-call list, but that it would take 30 days to take effect, and that I would still receive some calls from Verizon. I asked what kind of calls, and they said for "new products and services" (=marketing). I told them this was the kind of call I didn't want to receive, and that I didn't want to receive _ANY_ calls from them anymore. He said he'd note my preference (what exactly does THAT mean?). If these kinds of calls come through even with my caller ID and anonymous call rejection, then I'm thinking of getting a call zapper that requires the caller to enter a code or spell my name before it lets my phone ring, and saving myself the $7.50/month for caller id service.

put on verizon do not call list PLEASE

I HAVE a zapper and the calls still come through. I don't think there IS a way to stop them. They CHARGE to drop services (i.e.long distance, etc.)yet continue to annoy you even when you ask them to stop. Can I get THEIR home number?

You might try telling them what I told Cox Communication: If I receive one more call from anyone associated with Cox in any way shape or form I will cancel my cable and get satellite. I haven't had a call since.

877-237-1316 Verizon Telecommunications. Call Every night and when I answer they hang up. When I call back they want my name and phone number. I am on the national do not call list and obviously they do not adhere to this list.

They call almost daily but they never leave messages and always hang up whenever the call is answered. Highly annoying.

He called tonight and said his name was Ollie and asked for my husband. He wanted to save us up to $28.00 on our phone bill. Asked him why Verizon didn"t send us a letter. Again he stated he was calling on behalf of Verizon. He hung up on my husband while we were discussing the call!

It's a daily thing with these pests. Verizon is just a pain right in the butt. I am seriously considering no longer doing business with them. I have a nice whistle nearby and plan to blow out somebody's ear drum if they ever connect with me. I am on the donotcall list. Verizon can still call you because you have a "relationship" with them. So don't waste your time waiting for the donotcall people to protect you. More and more every day these parasites are finding ways to circumvent donotcall.

I get calls from this number probably every day. I do not answer and I haven't yet gotten a voice mail from them. I called it back and it is, indeed, Verizon's sales department. When you call them back they give you option 2 to get information about the National "do not call" list and then option 3 to get information about Verizon's call lists. When you press 3 you get a few moments of hold music and then the line goes quiet. I wouldn't waste time on option 3 if I were you. Let me save you some time on option 2 - www.donotcall.gov or toll free 1-888-382-1222. Good luck!

They keep calling and letting it ring only 4 times. (My voicemail picks up after 5 rings). Do they really keep that type of data in their database to avoid voicemail? It's very annoying because it makes you think it's someone you know trying to call that doesn't want to get voicemail. I then end up wasting a *69 fee (because I'm too cheap to get caller ID) :P

The phone number 877-237-1316 traces back to "Verizon Telecommunications Sales" offices. They're either calling to try and upgrade you, or calling because you recently changed from THEIR phone service to someone elses. Either way...it's a sales pitch.

Calls several times.
