I got the same thing except someone with a Philippine accent called me on my Rogers home number which is not listed and asked for my wife by name. He claimed to be from Microsoft and said that my wife's laptop had some kind of malicious software running on it. I asked for a call back number and he gave me (800)914-2179. I tried to reverse look up the number but came out empty handed. I called the number and was told that the number was disconnected but that I should call 101 457 87. Of course that looks like a scam and now i have found this post.

They called my office today looking for a current or former (not sure which) employee, but they called on a number that is not given to employees, it's only attached to our corporate information.

Basically they called a number that they got by looking through public records, and then identified (to me) the full name of the person they were trying to collect for... umm, what?!

this company gets names of people that owe money, so bank of nova scotis uses them. Then they try to get a hold of that person by calling the number that bank gives them, unfortunately they take the last name of the person and computer jenerate auto calls telling everyone with that last name to call back right away and when you call u are given another # that if you call u get billed for it. They dont collect any money from the person they are looking for. It comes from the one that call the # back. The bank told me they use that company and I am in the process of uncovering What the hell the scotia bank is doing!!!!!!!  The company uses @20 different numbers and they are all unlisted  Global   Global Int

If you email your story to me I will pass it on to the Bank of Nova Scotia and we can drive them crazy

This stupid a***oles keep calling for my x that I have nothing to do with.The last time they called looking for her I told them, Check the Fuc...............Phone Book she in it. The Bank of nova scotia hires these people to collect debt but all they do is harress people with the same name. I am going to make it public that the bank is just as stupid as the company they hired! Im a gonalooser!

Receive this phone call at 8:30AM, it went to my voicemail. I call them back and ask them to remove my number on their list. She asked me if my number is for XXXXX, I told her that there is no such person (we have been receive numerous call from collection agency regarding the name that she mentioned on my home phone), she then sounded like typing something and told me my number has been removed.Hopefully they don't call again.

I got 4 phone calls in 10 minutes from a number that appeared on my cell phone as 1-877-837-7467. I did not answer any of those calls because i was at a dinner party, and later when I checked my phone I discovered that I had missed 4 calls. The next day I called the number back to see what it was all about, and got a recorded woman's voice saying "this number has a new directory assistance service, please call 10145787 to be connected to a national directory service, again the number is..."
I did not dial that 10145787 number. If I get any more calls from that original 1-877 number I will be phoning the police anti-fraud hotline.

I know your post is older, but Collection Agencies HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL ANYONE other than the person they are trying to collect from...   It is illegal....   But since they are a scam anyway they shouldn't be calling...

I had a message for my next door neighbour from Warren at 905-413-8775. They said his phone was disconnected and asked me to pass along the message to call back.

I got many calls from these guys looking for someone called Candace and want me to call 1877-558-4274 or dial 9 to talk to someone. I dialed 9 I spoke with someone ,not too pleasant conversation, I hung up after he tried to ask my phone number and other information.  Hang up the phone right away and report them to your phone provider company, they should take action to stop them knowing very well that these are fraudulent calls.

i just got a message on my phone saying the same types of things from that number i called em back tonight and left a message they will never forget but if they call my number one more time ill go beyond bitching at them. im sick of these random long distance numbers calling me and half them after for guys and girls that dont live with me or i dont even have a clue who they are and some of them live far away from me.

received a phone call from 905-413-8775 on my call display. typically thinking it was another do***ebag telemarketer, I didn't answer. was surprised to see they left a vm on my answering machine. after checking it they were looking for a family member (cousin) and asking me to inform them to call 877-241-7835 ex 8775 and ask for Warren. they did not say who they were calling from so I can only assume it's from the company listed above. promptly put this # on my selective call reject.

I am reporting this for my daughter who has now moved out of the country.
Numerous calls are threatening, demanding that we call them within 48 hours or face further action. Investigation determines that the calls originate from Global Credit and Collection Inc.

this  number 877-241-7835 kept leaving threatening messages on our voicemail that they've made several attempts to contact us and will be forced to take further action. -  Today it was "Sal" - like everyone else has said, they don't address whom they want to speak to and are vary vague on details. After today, we finally looked up the number and found this site. Thank goodness - So we called the number back and received voicemail. Needless to say my husband was rather fed up at this point and left them our own message.  I've never spoke to them before but if I happen to get called again I'll just screw with their heads..  lol

its a collection agency called Global Credit Collections, they are not credible very corrupt.

NO messages and do ont indicate reason for call etc.

I was comtacted by this number and bullied into giving out confirmation numbers and id, The person i spoke with was named "ngueny" and gave me a refference number of 3770357 and claimed that the problem was not with me but with a family menber.  They also told me that i need to confirmed the number i was calling from, and two people names that were connected with my home phone number.

Eventually this lady started to loose her cool and professionallism, i told about the info i found on a google search and i was going to call the police. She told me to go right ahead, i then told her to remove my number effective immediately.

I called my home phone provider and the police, and let them know about what had happen.

This is the number of a well known collection agency called Global Credit and Collection Inc. It is well known for being a scam. They pretend to collect money from debts on behalf of a banks, but.... in reality they have used illegal tactics to gain people's banking information. This so called company is a scam, DO NOT PAY THEM ANYTHING.... they only want to steal your money.

This company is not legitimate.  They have no information on you and are trying to convince you to give it to them.  The buy outstanding debts fromother collection agencys for roughly 10 percent of what is owing on the debt and try to bully you into paying more than is actually owed.  Call the Provincial Police if they contact you.

One memeber from this company started yelling at me saying I owe money, but wouldn't send proof and used very foul language as well.

This is a collection agency that uses a variety of methods to try and collect including bullying tactics, constant phone calls, threatening messages, etc.

This agency collects on behalf of a number of banks and credit companies.

I just got a call from these clowns as did my wife on her cell.. the only company that has our cell numbers together is Fido..

I called back.. got a conference calling service asking me what conference call I'm participating in.. WTF ??  

then I googled the number and I get UPS..

These people keep leaving messages on my business line saying that we have made several attempts to contact me and that it is of a very urgent matter that we call them back asap. they don't say what it is about only to call them back. When they answer the phone they just say hello and dont give you any info as to who it is they ask for your name and phone number right away. the first few times they called they said that they have been granted special 48 hr permission to call us about a certain matter that must be looked after. The one message left was from a guy who says you don't even have the decency to  call us back and they have left important messages. very rude people!
I called them today and told them to quit  calling me. Scammers!

Global Credit Collections even has someone else's name associated with my telephone number. They are below pond scum.

I just received a call from this number....and they were looking for my spouse.  He wasn't here so I told them that, and they kept trying to get me to give them his cell phone number.  Not happening....and when I asked to take a message, all they gave me was the number and an extention.  When I asked what this was in regards to, they wouldn't tell me!

somebody called me and asked to call back, said it was urgent. I called back all they said was that they have my number on file and it's not registered in my name. I ask where and why they called, the girl said they can't disclose the info. I ask where you got my number and who give them the authorization to call. They would not tell me anything. The part got me really confused is that THEY called ME but won't even tell me what it was about. When I got pissed off, the girl said it has nothing to do with me? Are you freaking kidding me? You told me somebody's using my number, you have to contact me to collect money and it has nothing to do with me? What the F???

this number (877-241-7835) keeps  call my phone that is unlisted and privite stating that we should return the call within 48 hours but they don't address the person they want., or provide account number for contact information nor do they say who they are or what company they are calling for.

Received automated message from this number. I returned the call because they had called several times already leaving threatening messages. I spoke to a rep named Warren who would not disclose his name or the company he represented. He was very insistent on gaining personal info from me, which I would not divulge until he gave me info. After a heated exchange of words I simply hung up. As soon as I hung up I got another call from the number 877-804-7358 which left a message that I have not returned their phone calls and that the call was a "time sensitive" issue. Both numbers are from the same source, it is an absolute SCAM! Do not give out any information to these people. Contact your phone service provider and have these numbers blocked.

They call our place of business to speak with one of our employee's, this is a scam for telemarketting. Tell them to take you off their calling list.

I just got an automated call from this number. I called them back and she asked for my phone number, I refused to give it to her until she told me what company I just called (she answered with "Michelle speaking", no company name). She wouldn't tell me what company I called until I give her my number. Of course I didn't give her the number and she said "then have yourself a nice day" and hung up on me!

I'm amazed that these scammers think they can con people like that! Crooks CAN be so dumb!

This number calls several times a day and it is very annoying, it is a scam. We are trying to run a business, please stop this non sense.
