Keep getting a call from 1-877-241-8302. They call all day till 10pm. Make them stop I do not pick up the phone

What company thinks it is okay to call after 9pm?!  TWICE!!!  Then when I finally did answer (because, I thought someone MUST be dying if they are calling that late), the lady made a joke about me being hard to reach.  Yeah, because I go to bed early so I can be up at 4am you twerp!  I don't mind giving to charity, if I have it to give.  But I don't like inconsiderate b****oles.  So, no...I will not ever be giving to this one.  

How does someone call out of the blue never seen this number before and do not bother to leave a message

As a commercial fundraiser, ACS is expected to honor an internal no-call list and add any number upon request. Break that order, the FTC declares, and ''the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.'' They are also covered to a point by other regulations for telepests, so you can complain to the FTC about abandoned calls, bot calls to mobile phones, and so on.

Like all non-sales calls, these are exempt from federal and state no-call registries, even though the call centers executing the recurring campaigns are very much for-profit and pocket most of what is collected. At times the ''charity'' client is itself a closet profit enterprise, compounding the deception. This has been exactly the unholy business model attributed to ACS and its many sound-alike bogus charity clients.

Because the amounts collected are rather small, these call centers are quite motivated to repeatedly hassle you. The worst of the industry will "reload" a donor multiple times a year, preferring forgetful and easily confused victims. Most if not all such phone farms assume that your no-call order, when given verbally or by keypress, conveniently expires when a client's campaign ends.

In comments from November 2012 and June 2013 linked below, I've discussed simple steps I took to rid myself of a major pain fundraising boiler room by politely rubbing its face in federal laws. You will note that I never rely on verbal cease-communication demands.

800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also.

Charities, along with some survey's and Political calls, are exempt from the DNC, however, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC when asked, you can also check your states laws in regards. Some states do not allow them to call on their state DNC laws which can differ from the federal.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

The call and call often and hang up.

This caller call very frequently some times they let the phone rings 3 times and hang up they call everyday of the week sometimes more then ounce its called telemarked harassment.

WE did not call you,

Many calls a day...no message.

They call me at home twice in the morning and twice late in the evening. Now this morning, they called my cell! I never answer, but it's such a nuisance.

Please do not call. I have trouble getting to the phone and can not get up to answer unwanted calls.

These people use multiple numbers. And have misrepresented themselves as American Cancer Society (ACS) to me. I never answer when I get a call from 800 Service.

Between 8:54 a.m. and 3:04 p.m. today I have already gotten 6 calls from this number, and the day is not over yet. I will get at least 5 more. This is ludicrous. There has to be a way to block the annoying calls. Everyone wants money, well so do I. I am even considering getting rid of my phone. This is becoming very annoying.

These people have been calling me from 8am to 8pm from this (and several other numbers) on a daily basis. I have never actually done any kind of business with them and have no idea how they got my number or why they persist in calling.  It's been several months now, and they have called every single day. I have threatened, begged, and pleaded with them to stop.  It does no good.  Most are robo-calls but the few times I actually get to speak to someone, they claim to be ACS. I have explained to them that I work night shifts and sleep during the day and their calls constantly wake me up.  Unfortunately, as a medical professional, I need to be within telephone reach at all times, so I can not simply turn off my phone.  I have reported this number to every agency known to man.  I researched them via the Internet and found out they are a quasi-legal organization called Associated Community Services which keeps keeps the lion?s share of virtually every donation it collects. I read that "at least four attorneys general across the country and one Secretary of State, have gone after the company for a whole slew of alleged violations, including engaging in "manipulative, high-pressure fundraising tactics," and deceiving its donors." Obviously, my only recourse seems to be to change my phone number.  How sad that nothing can be done to stop these scamsters.

Got a call at 7:30 an, 10:30 am, 12;05 pm, 12:45, pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 7:30 pm and 9:45 pm. All in one day!!!!! How do I stop this????

DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THESE TELEMARKETERS!!!!!!  BEWARE!!!!!!!  They call me all the time and I never answer, so I finally decided to answer and ask them to stop calling.  The lady on the phone said I promised a 10.00 donation back in July and they had not recieved it yet.  I told her I never give donations over the phone and I would not be sending one, and to remove me from their list.  She was rude and hung up....that alone shows they are not really a loving charity!  I never promised 10.00 to them, flat out lie!!!!!!!!!!  FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD!

I am getting calls from this number from 8:20 in the morning to 08:45 at night. They sometimes let the answering machine pick up and stay on the line until disconnected. At other times, they will hang up after 4 rings. I, too am unemployed and I have spoken with four or five different telemarketers in the past two years and requested that they stop calling. It has done absolutely no good. When the phone rings I am hoping that it is a potential employer, not this "charity."  If their phone bill wasn't so high, maybe they'd have a little money for their cause.  What has happened to common courtesy?.

It should be evident from this thread that predictive dialers do not care about your personal problems, and your verbal no-call demands are likely to be ignored. Send the boiler room a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one.

The "ACS" acronym most likely equals commercial fundraiser Associated Community Services. These call centers sneak in as exemptions to the federal Do-Not-Call program but do not share the same protection as their often dubious "charity" clients. The FTC rules say: ''... if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.''

I receive 2 or 3 calls a day from this number.  I cannot stop them calling me.  Please help me.

we just lost a family member to Cancer and we told these callers this and asked to be respected and will make a donation when we get everything complete regarding our family member yet these callers continue to call. Do they not understand what we are going through in our home? BE RESPECTFUL of ours.
