I got a call from a women from CRA looking for a family member that I don't even live with. She wouldn't tell me what it was about but that it was imperitive that she get a return phone call.

I believe they're some sort of collection agency as well.

Got a call from Sarah at CRA, said she needed to contact my brother ASAP. Gave me a file number. When I asked what she wanted she would not disclose any info. She did say that CRA is a mediation firm. My opinion is that CRA is a collections agency.

I just received a call from a guy named Drew Long looking for my sister-in-law.  He said my number had been given as a reference.  He gave me the number 877-261-6457 to have her call.  I asked what it concerned & he just said that they had to file some paperwork against her and needed to speak to her first.  He gave me a filing # for her to use.  I sent her an email and she told me no one that would have anything to do with any debt of hers should have my name or number.  Now that I think about it he didn't even use my name.  He just asked if I knew her.  Hmm.... sounds fishy to me.

They called and told me the IRS will take care of my debt, they called me trash, worthless P.O.S., told me that I was not a man, and a lot more, then She hang up, i was not able to say a word back to her, i called back "Robert" answered the call, I asked for CRA's Address and he refused to give any information, and told me again that the IRS was going to take care of this , I told him to do what he had to do, he started the bad language again and i just told him to go F#@k him self, and then I hung up, WHAT A JERK!!!!!!!!

Girlfriend answered, they called asking for me so she told them to call back at a later time. Person told her for me to call back because she might be tied up doing other things. Then she told her for me to give her a call back because she might be tied up doing other things. She initially called from a 310 number but when she gave my girlfriend the call back number she gave her this number and said it was in reference to my brother. My brother doesn't even live in the same house.

I got a call from a lady who was looking for my dad. my phone number isn't listed and i haven't lived with my parents for years. She didn't even know my full first name, just my initial. The lady said she needed some information on a "claim" that was being filed against my dad and needed some basic information before they moved forward with it and then she gave me a reference number. She said she didn't know what the "case" was about that the "attorney" was in court. I asked why she was calling then if she didn't know what it was about. She said she was calling to get him to call back - when earlier she said she was calling to get basic information. Then I asked her what organization she was with. It was CRA. When I asked her what it stood for, she said that was just the name; that is stood for nothing.

They also left a message on my dad's answering machine. He recognized it as a scam and said to leave it alone.

My girlfriend received a call from these yahoo's a few days ago, from the guy with the southern accent.  He was demanding that she pay an old credit card debit from over a decade ago, one that the bank has forgiven and sent paperwork stating such.  When she informed him of that he threatened to sue and she hung up.  I was going to call them up this morning to get an address that we could send a DV letter to, but from the sounds of it, I don't know if I'm going to bother with these unscrupulous jerks.

A lady called and asked for my mom. She wanted $1500 to take care of a debt. When I asked questions she hung up. I called the number back and spoke to a Richard Scott. I asked for the name and location of the company, and he said CRA in Los Angeles with a southern accent. He eventually became rude and hung up. A total scam.

I have received three calls on my voicemail from a woman leaving no name, a case file #, and a demand that I call immediately due to an urgent matter she came across in my "file".  I called back at the number listed above and a man answered, though he would'nt id himself except that he was an agent acting on behalf of federal and state government agencies. I asked if he was an attorney, a bill collector, etc., and he refused to provide a direct answer. He was completely vague when I demanded to know the name of the company he worked for.  I knew he wasn't an attorney, of course. He was rude and condescending - a real "bully".  I am relieved to have read about similar experiences of others ( although I am sorry you had to go through such a nasty excounter).

Called my phone and left a message, had my name well not the full name of course, said that it was serious, told me that they are going to have the IRS, take care of my credit debt, with a card company , if i didnt pay them, I Asked 5 times if this was CRA, and also asked what sort of company they were, and he kept turning it around, detering to answer the question, unfortunately, for them my next call will be to the IRS, and hope they read this, because theres gonna be alot of questions asked, oh.. funny how they answer in a professional manner...Hello..  chuckles..

Hmmm, I just got a call from this company at my grandmas house.  I have no idea what it's about, but my grandma said the lady was very rude to her.  Not to mention that I'm female and they kept referring to me as "him".  Anyway, I called back to basically tell this person to go to hell, but like any smart cookie I blocked my phone number first.  Apparently they won't take calls from blocked numbers.  Oh well, and I was so looking forward to telling this person to take a flying leap too...

I am no longer afraid of these vaguely threatening phone calls.  My credit was stolen, so if they are threatening my credit, hey, go for it.  It has already been ruined.  I just tend to have fun with these people, if they're rude why not be rude back?

I received a call from Amy at CRA in which she seemed like it was very urgent that I return her call asap but when I did I only got a machine that said their office was open until 9:00 but it was before 9:00 when I called so I left a message and have not received a call back

was with CRA and it was imperative that he speak with Jose Hernandez also gave me a file # called home and cell phone...think i will call police.

received a call march of 2009 he left a message saying his name was mr.sid and that it was imperative and extremely important that i return his phone call regarding the county that i lived in and he was a registered representative??? all lies I believe they are trying to steal your personal information. I returned their phone call their was no one by that name and all they wanted was the 6 digit code they left on your machine. The woman that answered Was EXTREMELY RUDE SHE WOULD NOT VERIFY WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS THEY WERE AND AFTER ARGUING EVENTUALLY HUNG UP ON ME

Called and left a message that they some important papers came across their desk on me and that I would be  in a great deal of trouble If I didn't return their call. I called and a man picked up without identifying himself or the company. I ask him what the name of the company and what it was they did he rudely stated the it was his company called CRA I ask them what type of company where they he wouldn't tell me. He ask me for the reference number he left. I did not give it to him because I felt uncomfortable about the overall tone of the call. He was rude and unprofessional

They left a message at the house I used to live at 3 years ago... they left a message to the head of the household (they knew his name) and when he called them back they told him they wanted to speak to me (They knew MY name too!) and they gave him a file #. So I called the number and no one picked up, even though their office hours were open till 9pm and I called around 6:30 pm. I have no idea what this call is about, but I left them a m essage with my updated phone #.

They left a message on my machine wanting some guy I'd never heard of to contact them immediately. They gave a reference number. I called them, they didn't say who they were when they answered the phone. I told I had a message on my machine, they asked for the reference # & he said it was regarding this person I'd never heard of. So I told him that and said that my phone # was not this guy's phone and he said he'd remove me, but acted like he didn't believe me.
