Got a few calls from them today, so I called them back. Sure enough, it was Charter. They validated who I was, and my services, and we chatted about how everything was paid in full, there was no reason for them to be calling, etc. The guy on the phone couldn't figure it out either, so I asked him to remove me from all calling lists. At that exact moment he let out a big sigh and thanked me "for saying that". Apparently according to him, they cannot remove you unless you specifically ask. Otherwise they run the risk of getting fired. He was very cool and we joked about how much Charter sucked (seriously!!). So that's the trick - call back (I called at 7:30pm Central Time) and simply ask to be removed from their database. I wasn't sold any services, etc. If they DO try to sell you anything like upgraded internet, tell them the lines are terrible in your neighborhood and that's the max you can get. That ends their pitch. ;)

They'll tell you they can continue to annoy you for up to 20 days after you ask them to be put on their company's do-not-call list. That's a lie. By law, they must stop immediately:

Getting calls almost everyday, sometimes twice a day. Charter is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Filed a complaint with the FTC.

Have Charter internet, calls repeatedly trying to sell me TV, and keeps calling even after I threatened to switch to AT&T for internet if I got another call... Added a contact in my phone with ringtone set to silent, problem solved.

i am not a coutomer of charter they keep calling. i talked to some one once and told them to put me on their do not call list. the phone number i have used to belong to some one else. it was a charter customer. they told me they cant put me on the do not call list because the previous owner of this number has not stopped the subscription to charter. i told them to stop calling . they wont stop. i have rpeopted them to the fcc.

Charter telemarketing group has become a real annoyance. I ask the representative on Charter's live chat how these calls might be stopped. This was her typed response:
"Customers/non-customers can visit www.charter.com and click Your Privacy Rights at the bottom of the screen. Next, click the Privacy Preferences link. All fields with an asterisk will need to be completed. The checkbox(es) at the bottom must be selected before clicking Submit. It may take up to 30 days for the Privacy request to process and that they may receive a contact within those 30 days."
I followed her instructions and will see how it goes.

I answered the call 2x but nobody responded on both occasions , I listened for approximately 5 seconds before I hanged up.

this is an automated call from Charter Communications. have been trying to stop them from calling for some time. i reported them and the call ceased for a while...now they are back at it again. at least one or two calls a day. all they want is to sell you something. just don't answer like i do and maybe one day they will get the message.
