I saw this number on caller id yesterday, and today answered a call from it. The woman asked for someone with a name similar to mine, and just hung up when I said there was no such person. I felt it was a search for identity information as this is the fourth or fifth call I have gotten like this, though the other three were from a different number.  When I called this number back, a recording says it is Wachovia telemarketing, and gives an option to opt out of future calls from them.  (The other three calls I received like this one were from 877-289-9205.  On callback, a recording says it is the law office of Vincent Pete Marly, which is doing a telemarketing thing under that number.

Has called daily for the past week or so.  They just hang up when I answer.

Have received 4 calls from this number in the past 24 hours.  They do not leave a message.

This is Wachovia - if you call the # there is an option to opt out.

Calls daily between 4 and 6 PM and hangs up.  They've called almost every day for the past week.

Wells Fargo promotion. Stay on the line long enough, and they'll allow you to enter the phone number you want removed from their list, so you don't get any more calls from them.

I agree with earlier posting that it is probably Wachovia.  Have told them repeatedly not to call with any promotion.  The calls stop for a few weeks and then resume.

I've been getting a lot of calls from this number( several a day). I let the calls go to voice mail,but they never leave a message. Finally I decided to answer the call and not say anything. They would stay on the line for about 30 seconds and the hang up. Last night they called and after about 20 seconds a woman spoke and asked for my wife by name. I got very nasty with her and told her that we wern't interested in anything she had to sell and to never call this number again. She acted like a "nut"... laughing her fool head off. I finally hung up and had the number blocked from calling me. I checked and it was Wachovia.

This number has been calling and driving me crazy!  My little ones take naps during the day and these phone calls wake them up.  Talked to Marcie last time they called and let me tell you this lady was a B*t**!!  I was being polite with her and she kept raising her voice and getting loud with me.  I wanted to tell her to go take a valium and chill out but of course I didn't.  This woman needs to appreciate the fact that she has a job and represent Wachovia in a respectful way!  Wachovia stop calling my house or were going to close all our accounts!!

Received a call from this number. Saying they are Wachovia. Asking to verify information. Called Wachovia number 800-WACHOVIA and they say they don't ask for personal information over the phone. Don't disclose any information.

Called said he was from Wachovia and was going to send a $25.00 gas card..wanted his assistant to verify data from me.  Asst. came on line, gave my address and asked if it was correct..having heard about scams that try to get you to say "yes" to a question and then "zonk" you with something I said "NO" "Absolutely NOT" and she terminated the call.

I contacted Wachovia and they indicated that this caller had NOTHING TO DO WITH WACHOVIA.    

SO BEWARE!!!!

I tried and was given the option to opt out and entered the number they were calling but said they didn't recognize it and started calling more. 7 times yesterday.

no message left.

Called 5 times today.  They call all the time and don't leave a message.

I got 4 calls from this number in the same day. No message.

I got 4 calls from this number in the same day also.  No message. I called the number and also got a Wachovia recording and it allowed me to opt out of getting any more calls about their promotion.

Kept getting calls from this #.   I also called back and it identified itself as Wachovia calling witht a promotion.  It gave me an option to opt out which I did.

Same here. Left no message. I Called the number back, and it was Wachovia Bank doing a telemarketing call.

Same here.Been getting a lot of calls like this since Lifelock and a fraud report.Sure its related!
