I am speaking with AT&T as I type this and this is definitely a bogus phone number, Please, Please, Please do not call this number as you may regret it.  At the time AT&T is addressing my issues as a result of the changes made on my account by some unknown person.  Be careful my fellow AT&T customers.  I am having to suspend my account and possibly lose information on my current phone because of some trifling individuals out there who refuse to work for a living and need to leech off those of us who work for a living.

Got the same e-mail as Jeanne O'Gwynn and was suspicious. Not only did I not make a request, but I closed my account with AT&T over a year ago. Glad I checked this site before calling.

I received an email "AT &T" stating in the subject line, Your At&T forgot User ID request." I called the 877-273-2728 number on the email asking when was my user id requested. They were quite savy, stated they have had several calls on this type of email, they had my home phone number then asked for the account number after the number as listed on my bill. I stated that they should have it, unfortunately they got my home address confirmed and my zip code. They also provided the AT &T internet phone number as listed on the bill.    Prior to my oops...
Few hours later, the bulb lit up, I called AT &T, they confirmed the email from att-online.services.2131576149@emallff.att-mail.com was not one of their servers.  They then instructed me to delete the email they would report it at their end.
This address is now blocked, marked as spam and I felt it prudent to change all of my banking  accounts. With a zip code, address and phone number it makes it easier if not successful in accessing all your credit and banking accounts.  Lets not forget they have now been reported to the FCC.

I received an email saying that my AT&T password had been changed and to call a number, if I had not authorized it.  I called this number and they answered as At&T but I became suspicious when they offered to change my password on the phone

A BIG "THANK YOU"  TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Both my husband and I received the same phone call - literally within seconds from the same 'Cody' with the same contact information.  Right away, it sounded suspicious!! They were asking for a 'Estela'; we have no one by that name in our immediate family.  I called the number back - - (interestingly enough, they call from 877 273 2728 but asked that we call back 855 872 6990 with a 'File' number about a complaint that was filed against this 'Estela.'
When I called back, the operator took my file number down and forwarded me to an 'agent.' He in turn answered 'LEGAL' and tried to ask for information; before we went further into the conversation, I asked for the name of the company - which he refused to give me. Noting his hesitation,  I immediately stated that file number pertaining to the person has nothing to do with either my husband's number or mine AND we had nothing to do with this 'ESTELA' they were trying to reach; nor was she in our family.
He replied what the numbers were - and stated they would be removed and hung up.  NOTE: He never confirmed any information and NEVER gave the company name. FISHY! FISHY! FISHY!

Please keep posting so STOP these FOOLS!!

I looked up their website and it's a 'SHELL'  - -there's nothing there. It notes an address in Eastvale, CA. When you google it, it brings you to an empty lot. Which to me confirms their a start up and grasping at anything to fund their SCAM!!   DON'T FALL FOR IT!!

I just got similar phishing email purportedly from AT&T, saying I changed my password & if that was  "in error" call that 877 ph #.  Hovering over www.att.com link revealed "clicks.att.com/OCT/eTrac?EMAIL_ID=..." etc. I didn't click on link or call ph #.  Just tried to report to AT&T directly.  Website chat person (no contact ph # given) ignored my question about whether ph # legit & couldn't tell me if email was fraudulent.  Just told me someone would call to assist me.  In meantime I called ATT 800 ph # on my bill & told rep I got phishing email w. that 877 ph #, which I determined was a scam line.  Rep didn't seem to believe me.  I got cut off(?). I'm wondering if ATT is somehow involved, as in using telemarketers w.  this 877 #.

I just got the same type of email with the same call back number.  I eventually called a known AT&T number and they said it is a phishing scam.  I had given an email address and phone number before I got suspicious and stopped.  Have you gotten any adverse actions from them?

They're still at it!  I just got the same email.  I made the mistake of calling the number listed in the email and gave them my address and phone number.  I called a known number for AT&T, and they said it is a phishing scam!

I no longer have AT&T (havent for some years) and the home phone number ending in 0000 was suspicious.  The periods instead of dashes in the phone number were also suspicious.

Long story short, I called an AT&T 1-800 number from their web site gave them the info and the number and the rep indicated that is not the Web Assistance Center number he gives out.  he transferred me to a rep in Web Assistance who took the information.

Is this number a legitimate AT&T customer number or not?

I received a similar email addressing me as NICHOLAS GROOMS and saying I had added my email as a AT&T  ID.  I don't know anyone by that name so called the number. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes and it sure sounded like legitimate AT&T pre-recorded on-hold-cr*p while I waited.

When a rep finally answered, he tried to look up a few things, couldn't get any info and eventually told me just to forward the email to scam@abuse-att.net

He did not ask for any personal information. I sure would not have given any if they asked!

I received an email with this same number to call stating it was a pay bill reminder from AT&T yet? I have no home phone with them and never have. They were telling me to pay a bill. Then 3 days later I got another email stating that my user profile on their site had changed the contact email? I called the number and gave them no information but my name. The recording for one sounded like alot of static and you dont hear the bells as you do on the? Genuine att number?... They then told me they would have someone in special services call me back. Someone else called me from a totally different number saying that special services had a high number of calls...All in all I seen red flags and it worried me and why I wanted to investigate it further. As of now I cannot find out anything, but I do know I havent had any AT&T services.

After opening the email I noticed the last 4 digits of the account were not mine.
I called AT&T and they said they did not send me an email.

This phone number was in the middle of a phishing email supposedly from AT&T wireless.  The email had two of the three phone on our family plan and it asked if we authorized something.  Since we hadn't, I looked up the number online and found in 2011 it was associated with www.secretlegwear.com.  Using reverse directories, I could find no available info.  I called AT&T and they did not send this email, so I sent the email with the long headers to their security.  If you call the number, you get a canned voice system that says it is AT&T, but the rep I talked to said that number wasn't theirs.  So what is the truth?  Will let you know the outcome of this investigation.
