I am pretty sure they bought your name and number somewhere on the web and you either listed those people as refrences, or something. They called me, my husband and sister-all cell phones. I am so sick of these people.

check this link out - it tells all about this peoson. they call on a private number and give this one to call back, they give no name of company, and dont give you their name either. from everything i see it is a scam. be careful

yep, we got the same call. the person tried to call me, left no message, called my husband, and my sister. all cell phones-unlisted numbers. our one listed number was not called-interesting. I am glad I looked it up, cause I am pretty sure it is a scam, I have recieved calls like this before, saying they will be there in an hour to serve me with papers-a year later I am still waiting.....
how can we stop these people???
This lady gave no name or name of company at all-really? you think I am gonna call some un-named person with an un-named company??

This person called every single person in my family and left the same message that I was going to be sued and they needed to make sure I called this number. I will not be calling this number after reading these comments. i also filed a complaint with the FCC. These people should not have access to every cell phone in my family. We don't even live in the same house or same state for some. Unbeilevable how they can get away with this!

Got a unknown call, she left a message stating her name was Michelle and that she had come to my residence and place of employment trying to serve me a paper. She states that she is working for a 3rd parting for legal action and that I needed to call 877-275-8005 and ref a US case #. She also states she was going to go to the post office to get my correct information. If she has my home phone number, she has my address. She has never come by. This is a scam, and therefore no calls will be returned to these people. Especially since everyone else here is having the same woman call. If in fact this was legit, then the local sheriff's department would have been at my residence serving me those "so important" papers of hers.

A sibling received a message back on November 9 and again recently from a Michele Carson saying she was doing pre-verification and that I owed a debt.  She gave a document number and the phone number.  When I called back someone answered the phone asked for my document number and placed me on hold.  Then a Michael Ackers got on the phone asked me how I was doing and indicated I owed for a past payday loan.  He proceeded to ask if I was at the same job and address; and indicated a local law firm had been retained to process my suit.  All his clients wanted is their money; first he said it was $700 something but he could ask for a settlement of $285.  I asked him again what the full amount was and he said $622.  He said my options were to just ignore and see what they documentation said or I could pay him, it didn't matter to him...very it doesn't affect me.  I told him I would call back tomorrow, that I needed to think about it overnight and he said fine, but I needed to call him back by 2pm.  

I called back and he answered the phone directly and I asked where he was located in Georgia and the  name of the company.  He said Wellman and Associates and he was located in Norcross, GA at 3577 Chamblee.  I have the entire conversation on tape....thank you iPhone.

My sister received a call from a Michel 877-275-8005 @ NCI Processing stating she owed for a PayDay Loan from 2006. He stated she needed to pay $400.00 or they were going to charge her with fraud and cashing bad checks across state lines since the corporate office is not located in the state my sister lives. My sister asked for documentation and he told her they do not mail anything out. My sister called back and spoke to Ms. Walker and asked for their address. Ms Walker was very rude and stated that information cannot be given.When my sister called me and told me what happened, I immediately informed her if this was a true collector, she would have been given an address and received something in writing. I told her a collector cannot deny you proof. I tried looking the company up on the web but I cannot find them.  Since we don't have an address, a complaint cannot be filed with the BBB. I'm glad to have found this page with this information. I informed my sister to discontinue accepting their calls. Thank you all for your post!

My mother received a call from a guy informing her that I need to call this number, 877-275-8005.  She immediately called me at work fretting about the legal actions that are being taken against me for a supposed payday loan debt that I owe to All-Star Cash Advance.  I called the number given to me and immediately asked for PROOF that I owed this debt.  He said that his job was to help me but that he would not send me proof.  At that point in the conversation, he informed me that he would let the original creditor know that I refuse to pay because I don't believe that this debt is legitimate.  He was rude, sarcastic and threatening.  Any one being told to call this number and give them the "document number" that was supplied to them should be VERY leary.  Too many scams and if I was told correctly by the department of financial institutions, NEVER send money to someone without first getting concrete information - IN WRITING - to verify the legitimacy of the debt!

I just got the same type call. First from a lady stating she was calling from Esquire (unknown) in reference to someone suing me and she was doing a pre-legal verification. She wouldn't say any more and gave me a docket number and the 877-275-8005 number to call. Once I called that number the lady was trying to get me to settle the amount over the phone. Me knowing what I know, if someone has sued you and there's a judgement, you will have already received a subpoena in the mail. Also, it would require your signature and be sent certified or hand delivered by someone from the sheriff's department.

I kept getting these calls from a "Private Number" saying they were going to serve me with a "subpoena" and wanted to know if I would be home.  The two times SHE called (wouldn't give me her name), she never showed up.

Then, last week, SHE called again with her first name of "Michelle" and told me I needed to call 877-275-8005 with a court document number and I need to be home on Tuesday, Nov. 22 @ 11:15 am.  I called the "877" number, ONLY, to be subjected (or tried to) a line of questioning.  Since I'm not stupid and keep up on the latest "scams".......I "turned the table" and made him answer the questions I had - Most; that he would not.  He just kept saying that I owed for a PayDay Loan and that if I just paid HIM $275. I wouldn't have to go to court or be arrested.  

After much research, I found this number to be one of the "hundreds" of numbers whose sole purpose is to call/scam people and "scare" them into paying some amount of money they don't even know.  When I "called" him on it and told him I knew the law and had been speaking with my attorney, sheriff and the FBI........He said he was going to report me to his lawyer and he hung up.

Here's the deal.  Someone from "out of state" can NOT serve you a warrant or subpoena without going through your counties Sheriff dept.  They have to serve it.  And, SHE never showed up to serve me.......And, it's all a scare tactic to try and get money from you.  Unfortunately, a lot of older people on SS get scared and send them money.  The bottom line is.........

This is all a scam and don't sign anything...........Don't get the caller ANY info..........And, just ignore all of it.   I hope I have helped some people.
