Debt Collector
This has to be a scam, these people are debt collectors. They have called everyone in the phone book with the same last name.  They state that you have 2 hours to call them back or  you will be served, or that the person they are calling are listed as a point of contact.  I looked to see if they are licensed to practice in the state of VA, and thus far they are not.  When you call they cannot give you any information about the supposed debt, and want you to verify your information on top of that.

Debt Collector
Yesterday morning, I received a phone call from this number, and found myself listening to threats of collection of a debt on a balance due on a credit card account I closed 10+ years ago, up to and including my home.  The demand was for $10,000 + change to be delivered to their address at 1240 E. Ontario Avenue, Ste. 102-175, Corona, CA.  This caller who identified herself as Haylie Davis, demanded my street address and my account(s) number(s). I refused to provide them with any info.  Nevertheless, I called my bank and informed the Fraud Division that someone may attempt to access my accounts.  My bank assured me that they would investigate any attempts to do so.

I was terrified of what was happening - Was it possible that I could have overlooked something back in 2001?  Could a financial institution (a Bank) actually sell debts to debt collectors?  Merchants, etc., can do this ... at some point, I recalled that I never had a credit card that I could charge more than $1500 on.

This has been a nightmare.  When it finally occurred to me that no honest company/individual does business like a gang of terrorists, I Googled the phone number, and was amazed to see that others are being threatened and bullied!  I hope these guys get a good thumping!!

Yes this company keeps calling a relative. I called them to confirm the debt of which they fail to verify they want you to confirm SSN# and date of birth, like I am that stupid to give it to them. So I told them I am on to them and I already filed a report with the FTC, BBB, and the attorney General. This company is not registered to conduct business in California after I told them I have report them and asked for their address to send a cease communication letter they refused to give me their mailing address and requested I stop calling their company. They messed with the wrong cookie, with online research I found this companies partners already have been charged with 7 felony counts. The threaten that they have all calls recorded good luck using a recording in a court of law these people need to get a life and stop scamming people. They will be caught and when they do they are the ones that will pay will jail time =)

My whole thing is why did they call me numerous times requesting I no longer call them and that my case has been closed. Only because this is a prove of guilt that they are running a scam.

There address is

Worldwide Filing Services
1240 E. Ontario Avenue
Suite 102-175
Corona, CA 92881

send a cease communication letter and if they continue to bother you have a bigger case for them to be tried in a court of law with additional felony crimes

this company called my husband's ex wife and said he is in legal trouble (or at least thats what she said) they called me today, unavailable number of course. the lady identified herself as Donna Morgan from Process Services. She said my husband has a summons to appear in court. I asked which court and she wouldnt say. She gave me a number and a case number to call, she said it was their legal dept. I asked if she represents the court in question she said she did, out in California. Now, I don't know about anyone else but a court in CA cannot summons a person from another state to appear in court. I asked her point blank if they were a collection agency and she responded no.
People if this was a a court ordered summons they would not have an outside agency handling it. They would serve you through the legal course of action.

Got a couple of calls from a company claiming to be a process serving company several weeks ago. Lady said, she is trying to serve me summons for a trial. Asked her who is serving me and what where the trial is, she doesnt give any information. She wanted me to note down a telephone number to call to talk about the case. I politely asked her to serve me the papers an appropriate method. She started threatening that the trial would go on without in my absence. I laughed and asked to serve me the papers and cut off.

Got a call once again recently. Asked the lady to identify herself, she gave me her name and her company name as "Process Serving Department". I kept pressing her to give me the full name. She would not reveal the company name. Asked her for the address which should not reveal either. Asked her to give the location of the company and she replied "worldwide". Finally, she revealed that she is calling from California. She would not reveal any information about her company. She wanted me to call the toll free number.  Told her not to call me again and communicate with me in writing. She blatently said, that she would be calling me.

This tells me that these guys do not really have any case. The case number they are giving out is their internal reference number. And they are not eager to communicate in writing, which make me believe they do not have a strong legal case either. They are just talk to the people and dupe them into believing that they are in legal trouble to collect some money. Obviously, they are not going put anything writing.

Few months ago, an old debt dropped off my credit report after 7 years. I guess these guys purchased that debt at pennies on the dollar and trying to collect the money.

Anyone know what the statue of limitations for collection?  Is it legal to initiate a collection after the accounts gets aged out of credit reports?

My suggestion is, ask these guys to
1. Server the summons in a legally binding way (Court ordered summons must be served in person to the person being served. Mailing the documents is not valid. Summons must be handed in person to the person being served).
2. Request for written communication.

This number is part of a racket of companies claiming to be process servers but who appear to really be debt collectors. Read this investigative report. http://getoutofdebt.org/29403/something-smell ... filing-services

I've heard enough now to label this a scam.

Contact the FTC.

They are currently investigating a rash of complaints pointing to fraudulent collection of fake "debts" under various names all tied to Corona CA.
