This is still being used a bogus "removal" number AKA number harvester.  This time it's listed on a 2 in 1 junk fax, the top for scrap metal and the bottom for roof top snow removal.

At least 6 phone calls that, when answered, turned out to be faxes.  We don't have a fax.

Aside from reporting them to the FCC, I try faxing the page to the phone number(s) listed on the fax...annoying for them and usually after the third time they let it go to the answering machine.
Also, the names of the companies and their phone numbers will be different because the scamming company that is sending out the faxes does so for multiple "companies".
I try to do whatever I can to annoy the company that is advertised except call and talk to them directly.  That is a complete waste of time and just aggravates me more because they don't care.

I can't imagine anyone doing business with an unsolicited junk fax advertiser. I simply file with the Indiana Attorney Generals Office and be done with it. Sometimes they succeed in getting the spammer into court, sometimes it actually originates out of country. Legitimate businesses do not search for clients in this fashion.

The number they tell you to call to remove your fax number 877 281 6342 will not remove your fax...you can not stop it.

This number is listed as the "removal" number on a junk fax looking for scrap metal.  FCC complaint has been filed and I highly suggest that the rest of you do the same.

Are you really that naive to think that removal numbers work?!  Nothing will ever stop these faxes if everyone did as you suggested and called removal numbers and threw faxes in the trash.  FCC complaints are simple and take less than 2 minutes.

nsolicited junk fax from "J.R.V. Buyer" 256-689-6215 asking to buy junk equipment and machinery. We are a small office and don't deal in any of the sort of heavy equipment listed and did not ask for information concerning such disposal.

The 877-281-6342 is the number given to remove your company from their fax list.  Their company phone numbers are 248-930-7014 and 248-821-2130.  I became suspicious of this fax when I noticed the name of the company.  248 area code is in Michigan - seemed out of place.  After reading all the prior posts, I had to post as well.                Don't trust faxed advertisments is my belief!

Wow, haven't heard about this scam before, thanks for the heads up. I guess they reveal the pittance offer only after they've loaded up the truck and refuses to unload when you decline the pittance?

My fax says they are Mid-State Recyclers. It lists a cell phone # 412-915-5000. They have been here before. These illegal immigrants pose as scrap metal buyers wanting to buy any scrap metal they can make a dollar on. I work for an electrical contracting business and they call of fax us at least once a month. They offer good prices for surplus or scrap material, then they load up the most valuable pieces, make a small down payment on the quote that they gave you and leave saying the big truck will come back and get the rest, and pay the rest  but that part never happens.

Got a junk fax from "Retro-Tech Incorporated" which is a roofing contractor, with 1-877-281-6342 as the removal number. Does anyone have a fax number for either Retro-Tech or All American Buyers? If so please share...

My junk fax was for Gino's Roofing & Construction for the State of Texas and to call this number to be removed with a PIN 5898.  Not calling as it will only verify its a legit fax number.

The company spam faxes for hundreds of slimy businesses.  They are despicable.  They are rude and don't care about the thousands of wasted trees, not to mention the wasted time and trash.  
Call them daily at 636 634-2004 and tell them to run a legitimate business.

I get dozens of unwanted faxes a week.  Hundreds a year.  That is a major problem when you multiply my one fax machine by the millions who are being exposed to this unwanted advertising.  That is a lot of waste, and it's not their paper!

This service didn't recognize the pin number on the fax, so I called the advertiser, and a royal jerk hung up on me.  The jerk, by the way, didn't think one piece of paper was a big deal either.  

I'm just saying.

The above number is listed as the fax removal number for All American Buyers. As Karin stated, it is useless to call the fax removal number, since doing so only increases the number of faxes sent. The company name, telephone numbers and advertisement on subsequent faxes simply change.

The contact numbers for All American Buyers listed on the fax are 812-455-0070 and 812-305-9979. The latter number was given on a Craig's List posting, but the advertisment (for electrical wiring) has since been removed. All American Buyers claims to buy and transport various metals, electrical equipment and machinery.

Theft of x ray films--maybe your trying to cover up your own theft operation by accusing people.It
can easily be traced since you must have ID and permission to pick up films--Answering Services are not in the habit of picking up x ray films--they pick up a phone!!!!!!!!

If you dont use profanity towards a person you dont get it back,if you dont want the fax simply remove your number and throw the fax in the trash-act like an adult.

An answering service doesnt pick up records or x rays and you have to have signed documents to do something like that from a patient.You must be very ignorant of the medical profession.

We have been plagued with faxes from TeleNurseOnCall. If you call the above number nothing happens! If you call them they use profanity and tell you to stick the fax up you #$@^&! or some other profane thing. If you email them they lie and say that their number is not 1-800-708-1856 and then you see the same number listed on their reply email. I have filed a suit with the FCC and the Federal Trade Commission.

The people who are using this as a fax number may be linked to theft of x-ray film files and medical identity information.

Please contact your local Police, State Bureau of Investigation or the FBI if contacted by these people
as in all likelihood, they may pickup medical ID materials or x-ray files and not pay for the silver bearing materials.
