I got the same text message at 3:46 in the morning!  I don't even have a Citibank account.

I got the same text message this morning from 3599 at 5 this morning. What is going on?

I too got the text msg at 4:40 AM on the 24th.  I called my Citicards customer service number and they know nothing of any "restriction" on my account, and they do not recognize the telephone number either.  

Calling the number - you get a message that the number is no longer in service.  ??  Looks real shady to me.

Tthis is definitely a phishing scam.  I suggest calling the number from a payphone and entering 0-0-0 at the prompts. The payphone provider will bill the 877 number for placing the call and at least you'll get some satisfaction by causing a little bit of annoyance.

They called me and told me my credit card had been deactivated, a day after I set up my cc account online.  I would rather have a deactivated card than having my info used against me.  I am not going to even talk to them, I am sure it is a waste of time.

Got text message from (3518) claiming to be from Citibank. Said "message.center@citicards.com / CITI Cards. Please call us immediately at 1-877-284-0654 regarding recent restriction placed on your account.

Rec'd a text 05/24/09 stating:

message.center@citicards.com / CITI Cards. Please call us immediately at 1-877-284-0654 regarding recent restriction placed on your account. Thank you."

I do not have a chase acct.
I did a reply to the text stating I do not have a Chase account.

I have gotten two text messages about restrictions on accounts. One I don't have with the company. They are phony. One asked for credit card info, exp date and pin #. Legit companies will never ask you for that information. Don't fall for it.

Received the same message as above.  When I called the number from my landline it was busy.  When I called from my cell phone it said the subscriber number is not available.

I have had two such texts. It says there is a restriction on my acount and tells me to call citi cards.

call 1 877 284 0654 this numberdoes not exist.

looks like a right w**ker knows how to text and waste hard woking peoples time. Probably lives on Wall Street USA.

I called Citi general accounts, since I don't have CITI card. She was rude and said we don't send out text messages....They weren't very helpful.

Why do I have a restriction on my account and can you remove it

I received two text messages from this number telling me my card had "restrictions" ... I'm sure it does, because I don't have either a Citibank or Chase card.  The sad thing is, the person who will respond will probably be a senior citizen on a fixed income.  These people should go to hell.

that's a shame someone out there think they can get away with hurting other.I too was called about my account having restriction,this needs to stop t-mobile

Got a text (which I PAY for...grrr) that said it was from CITI Cards - that I had a recent restriction placed on my account.  It's a SCAM, and we PAY for this...

Got the same call from these scammers - did not answer their urgent request to call.

I just received this text from CITI Cards, which I don't have one.  It was asking me to confirm my phone number for MYCITI by calling 877-228-7944.  I received a message yesterday morning for CITI Cards stating the restriction being set up 877-284-0654 (from 3649).  I do not have a CITI card, so I wasn't sure why I received these.  When you hit zero which normally allows you to go to an operator, it keeps asking for your card number, exp date, and/or pin

It's probably random dialing within the cell phone area code and number ranges.
