This company is called Van Rue - they are a collection agency.  I receive calls constantly for someone with the same name but a different Social Security #.  They aqre threatening and even swear at me.  I have filed a complaint with the attorney general and hope others will do the same.

I also get calls from this number on my cell phone, I never answer and they don't leave a message.  I did call it back one time anonomous just to see who it was.  I thought they had said VAMU, but Van Rue sounds likely.

Bottom-feeders.....I do believe that this is a collection agency without direction.

The calls from them are obnoxious.  They will not accept that they are erroneously harrassing the wrong person.  The callers are horribly rude.  Obviously, this company hires people with no conscience.

I have been getting calls from this number repeatedly and I'm sick of it. I answer and there's no one there.

stupid people have been calling me since april for my deployed husband. they called me 3 days after i got my home phone set up in my name calling for him. they call me all the time. i have asked several times for them not to call me or i will press herrasment charges. whats even funnier is that they have this number but a wrong address what a bunch of stupid people

this number keeps calling us at all times of day and night and hanging up.  Many times the calls are multiple back-to-backs!

As for your situation, they have violated Section 805 of the FDCPA by calling you before 8 AM local time:

§ 805.  Communication in connection with debt collection   [15 USC 1692c]

(a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER GENERALLY.  Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt --

at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o'clock antimeridian and before 9 o'clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer's location....

Called today, and every other day for the past week, and never left a message. It looks like Vanru bought the debt along with the incorrect phone number from AACC.

They call my relatives: they call me when I am teaching: the person who calls ask to one of my relatives to out and will stop calling.

This phone number calls me all times of the day and hangs up because I say my business name and also they have talked they are very rude and unprofessional!

This caller calls in the morning, giggles, asks to speak to me, and when I ask who is calling he says "andrew". They never give me a last name or company. It's continuous and aggravating.

this is a collection agency called vanru. they are ridiculous and not worth trying to deal with. no one there even speaks english, they are either indian or spanish they cant even pronounce your name right.
